I held aloft my brazen sword

“You jest? What fool sent you this way to try and vanquish me.” The vampire sheathed his sword and grabbed his horse’s reigns and jumped back on the mare. He petted her neck and shrugged off the crusader. “You should turn back and killed the one who sent you on this fool errand; many have tried and failed.”

The vampire stood in front of the soldier wearing his armor and with his sword drawn. This stranger was in his lands and he did not appreciate it. The vampire had long grown tired of the soldiers that ventured in and out of his land. Did they think that had a chance against the Muslim cockroaches? He had nearly driven them back until they claimed his life.

He looked at the crusader with annoyed glance. “Are you leaving or returning from the Oriental Hell?”

In the shadow of the broken foliage, the crusader Augustus held aloft his sword above his head and gazed upon the vampire with stony eyes. The Prussian was no stranger to fear, death, nor anguish, but in that moment in the face of the vampire he felt them all at once seep under his skin. It felt as if death itself found it’s way to creep under his skin and bones.

Eris had been traveling in her quest to find out more about her creators. One of her leads took her to Europe, more specifically to Germany. And yet, even after a tiring journey, it turned out the lead would end up in nohing.

She felt frustrated and upset. Exiting the hotel, she turned into smoke and let herself wander, ending up in a forest.

“I wonder why I ended up here…”

There was a darkness to that place, something… hidden and forbidden. Attracted to it, she walked around until she heard noise. It sounded like someone was nearby. Approaching silently through the trees, she found a man seemingly training. A warrior, here? 

He seemed experienced. She stood by a tree, close enough for him to notice her but far enough to escape if needed.

Augustus stood at his range with a series of weapons on a table infront of him. This time was strange to the crusader. He picked up a sub-machine gun and began to fire into a target. Augustus almost immediately placed the gun down. In that moment he found such a firearm distasteful. After tossing the sub machine gun Augustus took up a sword, an old German blade that shown with aging glory. 

The target dummy near his left was his next opponent. However, as he approached it he felt a pair of eyes holding on him.

The demon mumbled quietly. “Of course it was. Why do you think I marked it on the map. Took me two weeks of writing to old ‘friend’ to find its location…” He started to walk back to his pet and watched as she stalked a young mouse.
