Staring down at the limp body of the man before him the surgeon smirked. Although there had been distinct lines put up around them; once which shouldnât be crossed at any time, there had always remained that little voice in the back of his head, the one which urged him to let bygones be bygones when it came to something medical.
He glanced along his frame, slowly crouching down so that he was hovering just alongside of him. A shake of his head was given, while that smirk, as cocky as ever remained upon his face. âYou really bit off something you couldnât chew this time, huh Gladius?â He wasnât expecting any responses, and likely would just ignore any thrown his way. Easing an arm forward he pressed his fingers against the exposed neck of the man, feeling for a pulse. Good, there still had been one.
Now it did take a  lot of consideration, but the man gradually reached down to try and pull the other one into his grip, balancing him over his shoulder. This would of course be a lot more easier if he wasnât dragging around a passed out and limped body, but hey it needed to be done. Perhaps it had been due to past ties which had urged him as strongly as it did to allow this man to live another day. âNo one dies when I have something to do with itâŚâ A mutter was given beneath his breathe. It had been completely different if he were the one to kill, but anyone laying around half alive was his responsibility to revive and nurse back to health.
During the course of his lifetime heâs been compared to being a monster; but he wasnât the worst of them, it was merely scratching the surface of scum on a villainous iceberg - understandable, due to his actions in the past and present. Yet he was still human, body made of flesh and blood. Refined over years of training and durable, but still killable.Â
Bullets. He used it for ending multiple lives, shot from his firearm or his wrist device. This time however, it brought him down. How it happened, his mind canât recall at the moment, but it knew his body wouldnât be standing up afterwards.
Gladius was barely conscious, though he could feel himself being moved - moreso, dragged along. He found himself lacking strength on even opening his eyes. How badly had he been shot?
Pathetic...to be defeated like this...!! The sudden flare of anger increased his pain and his head grew heavier. Gladius somehow managed to gurgle a strained groan before slipping into unconsciousness.
