"Hello? Is anyone here?"
[Carol approaches the new food truck, smelling... something cooking. She's been out all day, and hasn't really eaten. She figured she may as well try this new truck she passed earlier, though it seems now like it may be closed?]
( @gl-carol-oneil )
*Meatsweats looked out, staring at carol*
"A customer? Well! You little skinny customer came to the right place! For I am! Rupert swaggart! The best chef in in New york!"
"Now I make the best dishes anywhere!"
She blinks, slightly startled by the massive mutant who answers her question. She stares at him for just a moment, listening to his introduction. She smiles awkwardly, chuckling a little.
"Well, that's good to hear, because I am starving. What kind of food do you serve, Mr. Swaggart?"
"How about some boiled silverfish! Right from the ground itself!"
*Meatsweats held up from wriggling mutant silverfish*
"This lot is hard to come by! Only I have the freshest ingredients!"
"It is mutant approved!"
Her eyes widen as the man lifts a live mutant silverfish. She presses her lips, trying not to be rude. But her kids are mutants- well, 3- nope, 4 - of them are, anyway. The idea of eating a mutant feels wrong, even if mutants themselves are apparently doing it.
She hums a little, tilting her head a bit.
"Hm, I don't know if boiled silverfish is quite for me... What else do you have?"
"Not a crustacean girl.."
"Alright! We have plenty other dishes for you!"
*Shrieking could be heard from the back as meatsweats grumbled and handed carol a menu*
"Why don't you look over a menu, I have things to take care of!"
*meatsweats went to the back, slamming his mallet against the cage*
"Why don't you quiet down mutant, or you will be my next meal!"
She takes the menu, glancing towards the shrieking. This is rapidly becoming very uncomfortable. She glances at the menu, flitting through it. She looks up through the window again as Swaggart shouts, frowning a bit. Well. That's not a silverfish. She's not sure what it is, but it's not a silverfish. She hums a little, looking through the window. She doesn't bother reading through the menu. She doesn't think she wants anything from here, after all....
*Meatsweats came back after a bit, looking at the carol*
"Have you thought on what dish you would like?"
She hums a little, watching the man.
"I've got a question. Is everything you serve made with mutant ingredients?"
"They are the feshest ingredients! And an abundant lot!"
"But I suppose I can make something without the mutant ingredients!"
She hums a bit, nodding slightly. She would rather just walk away and end this interaction, but she is still hungry. She sighs, glancing down at the menu again. She'll just get something simple to tide her over. Something safe, like a salad or a soup, maybe a sandwich. She hums again, finding a sandwich and pointing to it.
"Okay. Then I'll get one of these- without any mutant ingredients- please."
*meatsweats nodded, walking to the back, staring at Lee and raph*
"What are you lot doing here?!"
"Get out of my van!"
*they stared at predator shrieking louder before backing into their cage again*
@lee-o-nardo @im-a-turtle-with-anger-issues-2
*Leo glares to Meatsweats, throwing three smoke bombs in his face. He grabs Hiero and drags them quickly out*
"Let's go Raph!"
{Raph was about to grab his sai but he huffs and runs after Leo as he decides to book it instead of fighting.}
*meatsweats grabbed a silverfish, absorbing the mutant silverfishes powers before running after them*
"Give me my mutant back!"
*They shrieked, snapping and swiping at movements, hissing loudly*
She listens as the chaos unfolds, taking this opportunity to discretely back away from the food truck, before speed walking away. She'll just have something when she gets home, actually. It sounds like someone else is already helping the mutants- or at least one of them.
"Hello? Is anyone here?"

[Carol walks down the street, randomly getting the feeling she should look up. She does so, seeing a large silhouette on the rooftops. It almost looks like... Raphie? But bigger. Maybe its one of those alternative versions of her kid? They might need help... She glances around, then cups her hands around her mouth, shouting up to the figure]
"Hey there-! Are you lost?"
@red-angel-of-prevent1ng-harm
{A threatening growl can be heard from Raph, and his tail harshly whacks something that was in its way. It doesn't seem Like he noticed Carol.}
She frowns a little, going over to the building's fire escape and climbing to the top. If this is another version of Raphie, and they are alone and lost, there's a good chance they're freaking out right now.
She reaches the roof, approaching the figure- who she can now see does in fact look a lot like her little Raphie- cautiously and slowly.
"Hey there, are you lost?"
She repeats gently, trying again to catch the turtle's attention.
{Raph's attention snaps toward Carol. He watches Carol. Who is that? Not Bale- Danger? He clicks a warning at Carol, growling.}
She holds up her hands placatingly, showing the turtle she isn't a threat. She stands very still, watching them with a kind patience.
"Hello. I'm Carol. Are you lost?"
Raph, alone!
{Raph growls at Carol before moving to attack her- not brothers! Raph alone!}
She yelps, trying to move away from the roof edge. So, sounds like they are another version of Raphie. But it also seems like their response to being left alone is... more aggressive. Or maybe it's because she's a stranger to this turtle. She keeps a careful eye on them, carefully trying to evade their attack.
{Raph growls threateningly- snarling- before starting to smash anything he sees. He seemingly acts more like a mindless animal than a person.}
She ducks out of the way of the large turtle's fists. They'd spoken, so they have to understand language. Still, they act like a wild animal, attacking everything around them. She tries to think of how she could calm them down. She's a stranger to them. She wonders if their siblings are here somewhere, too.
She pulls out her phone, sending a message to Tello.
"Can you go to the lairs and see if anyone is missing a Raphael please?"
She snaps a photo of the turtle, sending it to Tello.
"HOLY SHELL 😨"
"Are you okay??"
"I'm okay, but could use some backup."
"Ok"
"Thank you"
She keeps her distance from the rampaging turtle, watching them carefully.
Raph! Alone!
{Raph yells, smashing something else before starting to move around the city, destroying things in his path.}
She follows the turtle.
"Where are they?"
"Oh. Nvm"
"I'm going home, you should come too"
"This other Donnie said things might get messy"
She glances down at her phone, glancing once more to the turtle. She sighs, backing off.
"Okay. See you there"

[There's a knock at your door, soft whispering coming from the other side]
( @gl-carol-oneil )
*Yi opens the door carefully, she looks with big eyes at the human in front of her*
They tug at mom's shirt slightly, pointing to Yi.
She looks up, smiling warmly, apologetically.
"Ah, hello! You must be Yi."
They click slightly, chirping for Yi's attention.
"Hi, Yi. Um, this is our mom. She wanted to talk to you."
*Yi looks from Tello's mom to them and back*
"Ah, uhm. Hey. Yeah, I'm Yi. And your name is...?"
*She backs slightly away, to let them in*
"Carol. It's nice to meet you, Yi."
She moves to step into the room, but stops as Tello gently tugs on her shirt again.
"Can I go find Raphie?"
They glance hesitantly between mom and Yi, not really wanting to sit around while they talk if they don't need to be there.
She smiles softly, recognizing the 'I don't want to be around people right now' hesitation. She nods.
They chirp a little, looking to Yi once more before turning and running off towards where they've been staying.
*Yi smiles to Tello, watching them leave*
"Nice to meet you too, Carol."
*She looks back to Carol*
"I'm happy to see, that you found us."
Looking back to Yi, she hums a little.
"Actually, I'm not quite sure how I got here. Or where here is."
She shrugs a little, giving Yi an apologetic look for a moment.
Then she gives her a soft smile, a thankful one.
"By the way, I wanted to thank you for taking care of Raphie and Tello while they've been here."
"Oh, no problem. Tello is not here for long, just arriving a few days ago."
*She gives Carol a smile back*
"Well, I'm here for almost a year. It's still New York, but not our New York."
She nods. She knows how long it's been since Tello disappeared. It's good to know that time doesn't seem to pass differently here.
Humming, she tilts her head a bit.
"I see... Tello did mention something about alternate universes or dimensions."
She looks at Yi for a moment. She's smaller than she was expecting, for an adult. The turtle honestly doesn't look old enough to be an adult. Not that she's exactly an expert in what mutant turtles look like at all ages.
"So... how many of you are here?" she asks gently.
"Yeah, this is my assumption. It's a city we all know and live in, but it's like a different alternative. Like your image on the water surface, but rippled from movement."
*She coughs slightly, stopping herself to ramble on about alternative universes*
"We are a few.... There's me with the kids and my siblings Uno and Moja. There is the 2012 lair with Mikey, Donnie and Raph. The Rise lair with Moon, Purple and Leon... and the '03 lair with Don."
"Do you have a place to stay in this city?"
She smiles softly as Yi rambles a bit. Tello is the same way sometimes.
Her eyes widen a little at the list of residents. Wow. That's... a lot of mutant turtles...
After considering for a moment, she shrugs and shakes her head a bit.
"I have no idea. Unless there's another me out there who's willing to put us up, probably not."
The idea is strange, in all honesty. She circles back to the 'lair' residents.
"That sounds like a lot of people. And you're all from different universes?"
*She nods and hums in thoughts. That wasn't good... If Carol hadn't a place to stay then-*
*Yi shakes her head slightly, focusing back at Carol*
"Sorry. Yeah, the turtles here are from different universes and are different versions..."
She smiles kindly, waving the apology off. She hums, nodding a bit.
"And... none of you are able to get home?"
She hadn't expected there to be so many people stuck here. It's both concerning and a little disheartening.
"I tried a few times... Unfortunately, every portal I opened just brought me back here... I can't reach my world with it, like there is a blockage..."
*Yi sighs*
Her brows shoot up in surprise. Portals? Like, magic?
She's not sure why it's so surprising. After all, 3 of her kids are big, talking turtles. She hums softly.
"I don't think I'll be much help for that, I'm afraid. I didn't even know magic existed until just now." she chuckles a little. "But if there is anything I can do, please let me know."
*Yi looks to her, stuttering for a moment*
"Uhm no... No magic. More science....y. I don't do magic."
*She goes to her desk, opening a big folder and pulling out some blueprints*
"Still the problem remains. Every try to open a portal with coordinates from my home world just throws me out in this world..."
"Oh, science portal. Of course." she facepalms slightly. "Apologies for the assumption."
She smiles a little. The exchange reminds her of Tello and Mikey.
She moves to look at the blueprints. She hums a bit.
"Unfortunately, I still won't be of much help. I'm a doctor, not an engineer."
She glances at Yi with an apologetic smile.
"No worries. There are enough big brains here that could help me."
*She chuckles and smiles*
"Well, I would offer you a resting place with now, but you would've to share the couch with Tello... I don't know if that's okay with you..."
She smiles gratefully.
"I don't mind at all. I'm just glad to have a roof over my head. Thank you so much."
She can sleep on the floor. All that matters to her is that she's able to stay with her kids.
*Yi nods*
"I will put a pillow and some blankets for you on the couch. If you need something else, you can tell us."
*She chirps, looking to Carol*
"Thank you so much, Yi." she says again, not entirely sure what else to say. "Is there anything I can do to repay you?"
"Right now, no. But if I need your help, I will tell you. For now, get some rest."
*Yi smiles*
She smiles back, feeling a bit guilty she can't help more. She nods.
"Okay. Thanks again, Yi. I'll go see what Tello and Raphie have gotten up to."
She nods again, heading back out the door with a little wave.
