Looking at her Cooper laughed. “ Let me ask you one thing, on this food tour of yours, do I get a say in anything or are you going to keep knocking my ideas to the ground like they mean nothing?” He teased as he looked at her.

“I don’t know.” Giselle said with a shrug. “I’m in a nice mood today, I might let you pick.” She teased back. “Lets stop at a diner first. I want chicken tenders and fries. I know its like a kids meal, but listen, its good.”

Nikki listened to Giselle speak and nodded her head. She could understand the woman’s hesitation though she disagreed with it. “Yeah I hear you. But y’all are together-together? He’s not only showering you with gifts, but you’re really going for it again right? It sounds like things are going well, but you seem very unsure. Are you guys not connecting or what?” She was trying to figure out what was really up with Giselle. Nikki wasn’t exactly a relationship guru, but she knew bullshit when she heard it so that made her a good friend to have.

"I mean he’s made all these promises and acted out on them which is great. Its just that he’s never really home.” Giselle sighed. “We’re together-together. Married with a ring and all. Never got the wedding I wanted though, but at this point I don’t even feel like I need it.” She let out a humorless laugh. “I guess you could say we’re not connecting. It feels like the times I do see him and I am around him is if he’s making up for something. I don’t know it just all-around kind of sucks. I just want him home and with me and I want to be happy and not bored all of the time. I’m always worried sick about him when he’s gone late at night. He doesn’t even tell me where he is or what he’s doing.”

The word Desperate rang through his head, desperate for money, desperate for a thrill, desperate for an escape, Mick felt desperate for many things recently. But nevertheless, she was right. Mick did what he was told and ordered the girl what she wanted, whilst ordering himself a martini. Although Mick would admit that a beer would sort him out, he liked to seem a little classier infront of Giselle. There was something about his below average childhood that made him want to take full advantage of the money he -sometimes - had now. Seeing the girl walk in, looking as glamorous as ever, Mickey stood and smiled, hugging her back with ease. “Sharp, why thank you. But I’m not the only sharp thing around here,” Mick whispered, before proceeding to point to his martini. He had a sour look on his face as he announced it’s strength, “I think the bartender’s new,” he spoke as he handed the girl both drinks, allowing her to try the strongest martini he’d ever tasted. “I’m guessing you just didn’t have enough options,” he joked, handing her a menu with a smirk on his face. “Well. Have you been a lady who lunches today or was that yesterday and the day before?”

"Actually I’ll have you know that I went for a job interview a few days ago. I got it. I don’t start til’ February. Its nothing permanent, just a nanny job until I figure out if I want to keep working as a doctor or not. So yes, I was a lady who lunches today and I will be until its time for me to work.” She stared at the martini for a moment, knowing full well that she could take it if she wanted to. However, she deemed it impolite to turn down his offer, so she sat down and took a dainty sip, her lips immediately puckering at the taste. “Yeah, thats strong for sure.” She said with a laugh, passing the drink back to him. Even though she wasn’t opposed to strong liquor, people usually drank those sort of things for a smooth sip, not necessarily for its punch. “I’ll just stick with mine, thank you very much. Maybe you can order something else?” She offered, resting her chin on her palm. “Anyway, what about you? What have you and your munchkins been up to?”

Jensen was on his third interview of the day and he was about ready to close the door. The good thing, is he was on his last one. The first three had driven him insane with the lack of qualities he asked for. Jensen walked to the front door when he saw some motion on the ring, opened the door and stood before her with his business slacks and a dress shirt. He nodded to @gisellebelle and gave her a small smile. “Hello.” He greeted as he held his hand out for a hand shake. “Please come in.”

He brought her into the walk way and into the living room. Jensen motioned for the single seat and sat down. Everything in his house was neat, and cleaned with a sparkling. Jensen had set out a small tray with water and a couple of glasses upside down. “Thank you for coming.” His face was stern and the past couple of interviews wore on his face. “Would you like something to drink? I have water here and some juice in the fridge.” 

Getting hospital privileges in Portland took way longer than expected and Giselle soon found herself out of work once she moved to Portland for good. At first she enjoyed the time off, but as the days wore on, the more she found herself getting utterly bored and lost in her thoughts. So, as she waited to make the decision to work at a hospital again, Giselle began to look for something temporary. It wasn’t long before she found a job listing she was comfortable with, and without much thought to it she applied for it. It was a nanny job, and she felt like it would be best to use her time for good. So, Giselle dressed in the most appropriate outfit she could find in her closet and made her way to her interview. 

“Hi, its very nice to meet you.” She said once she was greeted at the door, taking in her surroundings once she was led inside. Giselle was impressed with the cleanliness of the house, thankful that if she got the job she wouldn’t have to spend hours tidying it up. She then took a seat in the chair opposite of him and shook her head politely at his question. “I’m fine, thank you. You have a very beautiful home, by the way.” She remarked with a smile. 

“For breakfast? Oh you’re my kind of woman, we’re going to get along great,” they replied with a smirk. “Well if you want a proper one you can most certainly come out with me and my friends some time. No one does a Portland welcome like us. Just you know make sure you have an emergency contact on hand,” they joked. “I was about to say, so you basically want a whole farm. Right, the whole marriage is about compromise and what not. I mean there’s no harm in buying some land. Paying someone else to run it for a while and then take it over when you’re ready to retire. There are options. You hardly seem like a woman who would let her husband stop her from something. Motorcycles and tacky furniture? Sounds like someone I’ve met before,” they told her with a bit of a snort of a laugh, shaking off any thoughts of said person. “So you moved here to be with your husband, then?”

“I feel like every man likes a good motorcycle. Or at least the guys I’ve been with...and girls.” If there was anywhere to be open about her bisexuality it was Portland. She spent the last four years in Louisiana being in the closet. Although her sexuality was sort of an open secret amongst her social circle, her parents would’ve killed her if they saw her act out on it. “I like people with bad habits and rough edges. When your parents put you through finishing school, pageants, and debutante balls you begin to appreciate the murky parts of society that life has to offer.” She says with a smirk. “Mm, sounds like my kind of group then. Back home we’d party until five in the morning. Getting black out drunk and doing God knows what. Then we’d all clamor on home and be sober enough to go to mass the next day. Duality is a skill I’m well versed in. Trust me, I can do more than just hang.” Giselle nods at them. “I did. First we lived in LA, then he got settled here while I stayed with my parents for a bit. Once everything was ready I came over and now here I am. I don’t really know what to think of Portland yet. Its...different. How long have you lived here?”

“Ten years? Jesus, more power to you then. Get ten cats,” they replied with a laugh. They had been in many relationships over the year but only one had gotten close to marriage and the rest had dissipated very early on. To think that they could possibly be married to someone for over ten years was a bit mind blowing and though they always wanted to get married, they had genuinely settled with the fact that it probably wouldn’t happen for them. Well, until they met Hayat. “Don’t be sorry, I wish everyone were more forward like that. I’d love to be friends, I’m always welcoming more people in my life.” They offered her a friendly smile and slid up their sunglasses off their face. “I’m Paige, and since we’re being forward, I’m pretty fucking high right now so if I seem to be not paying attention and/or talking to much, now you know. Welcome to Portland, love.”

Giselle laughed once they removed their sunglasses, she had known that look all too well. “Hey its no problem, and if we’re being real I’ve had half a bottle of wine for breakfast. We all have our days.” She smiled. “Thank you! I’ve been waiting for a proper Portland welcome, I’m finally glad that I’ve got one.” Giselle hummed. "Anyway, about ten cats. Thats the plan, but with dogs. I want a lot of dogs. Ooh! And some horses....and birds....ducks...fish, the whole nine.” Giselle explained. “I never really gave up my childhood dreams of owning a farm. I want all the animals except for pigs, goats, and cows. Which, I guess when you think about it, those are all the animals and I just want chickens so...” She shrugged. “I don’t think my husband would go for it. Thats the thing I kind of hate about marriage, you kind of have to ask for permission on big things like that. It sucks. I love him though, I do, but if it isn’t motorcycles or tacky furniture, he isn’t into it.”
