Do you think max and Lizzie do a little more in their romantic scenes together than what is written there in the script ?

oh yeah. in fact, many of their scenes together have little to no direction in the script. if it does, it's often different from what we see on screen - such as the 4x10 kiss.

Max and Lizzie clearly do their own thing and the directors just roll with it. who's gonna fuck with that natural chemistry? 🥴
