summary: Meeting Jeon Olivia, in the midst of so many changes, gave me hope that a fresh start wouldn’t be so difficult. She welcomed me, respected me and, most importantly trusted me, as if I were the only person who understood her. But I knew she was hiding secrets, and her family was one of them.
She was my best friend, the one I’d always respected. But not that night, at that nightclub on just another weekend.
The night I met him, an older, intense, and confident man and he showed me what it feels like to be desired.
A nameless night. A week later, it revealed all its secrets, and among them was the worst of all.
The man I spent the night with was her father.

Friday was the day when all my hard work was rewarded with a snack and watching “The Vampire Diaries”, as if it were a ritual.
And at that very moment, it was the opposite. After college, i came straight home, cleaned and organized as much as i could, because the evening would be different.
Looking at the clothes on my bed, which clearly didn’t offer much choice, i wondered if i should really go, but Olivia always invited me, and i know she just wanted me to have fun.
After a long shower and some body and facial care, i dried my hair and did my usual makeup routine: concealer, blush, contouring, eyeliner, mascara, and a gorgeous, shiny lip gloss. It took almost two hours.
It was time to get dressed
Taking a chance on my only short black dress would be the only good option at that moment or maybe it’s too flashy. And honestly, it was the only decent dress i had left. I wondered as i looked in the mirror, and then I heard my cell phone vibrate on my small dresser.

| liv🧸: my mom needs me and it’s really urgent, i’m so sorry
I read the message and stare at it for exactly two minutes.
First, what happened to them? We’re getting into the part with the most secrets about her family.
Second, how am I supposed to go to that nightclub alone?
| you: hey liv, everything fine baby help ur mom and don’t even worry about me💗
I set my phone down on the bed and look at myself in the mirror again. Looking at my outfit and my makeup, should i go?
Maybe it would be a new opportunity, to go out and meet new people, a break from my exhausting, predictable routine. But it was scary.
Without giving my self-sabotaging thoughts a chance, i ordered a ride-hailing car, which luckily accepted my request right away. I put the finishing touches on my look, grabbed my purse, and left the apartment.
Maybe tonight wouldn’t be so bad.
In front of Eclipse Nightclub, all lit up in red and green, i passed through security and immediately felt the energy of the place.
The crowd made me wonder if it had been a good idea for me to come.
The place was beautiful, with colorful lights, music that made the floor vibrate, and people dancing happily. People were kissing, laughing, and drinking as if the world didn’t exist at that moment.
I took a deep breath and started walking toward the bar at the far end of the dance floor, slipping unnoticed through the crowd. I sat down in one of the chairs.
“I’d like a vodka and Red bull, please?”
The bartender nodded and began to prepare the simple drink i had ordered.
“Here’s your order, darling” i said with a grateful smile.
As soon as i picked up the glass, i took a small sip, but it was enough to feel the strong taste in my mouth, very strong. I grimaced involuntarily and heard a low chuckle beside me.
I turned my head and saw a man sitting a few seats away, holding a glass of whiskey on the rocks.
He was wearing a blue dress shirt with the top button undone, revealing a bit of his chest, and his sleeves rolled up to his forearms, where tattoos were visible, along with black pants.
And i could see that he had a lip piercing, dark hair, and big eyes.
Damn, he was a handsome guy. He definitely looked older and as if he’d just gotten off work.
“Bad drink?” he said, staring at me for a few seconds.
His calm voice gave me goosebumps
“I'm not really used to drinking,” i said, trying to maintain eye contact.
He looked at me for a few seconds before answering me
“Then why did you ask for it? You could start with something light” he said, taking another sip of his drink while staring at me.
Franzi raised her eyebrows slightly
“And why is that any of your business?” i retorted, faster than i would have liked
For a second, he looked surprised, but then he let out a short laugh as he set his glass down on the bar counter
“You sure have a sharp tongue, girl.”
“Are you waiting for someone?” I looked at him, a little surprised, for a moment, i froze, not sure whether i was telling the truth or not.
To say that i was supposed to be there with my best friend, but explaining my life to a stranger, was crazy.
“No,” i said, turning my attention back to my glass.
He fell silent, but for some reason, I felt like he was still looking at me.
I stirred my drink with the straw, watching the little swirl that formed as i moved it, while the music grew louder and louder in my ears. I was still wondering what i was doing here without Olivia, after all, that was the plan, a night together, drinks, and maybe a little dancing.
But there i was, drinking alone and talking to a guy i didn’t even know.
“Do you always answer like that?” He raised an eyebrow, there was no irritation in his expression, much less in his voice. Just the calmness of someone who knew something.
“Only with those who want to know too much,” i said, lowering his head slightly, as if trying not to laugh.
“A girl so difficult, huh?”
I looked at him right away, and my heart skipped a beat; I felt butterflies in my stomach. This time he didn't smile, but that teasing look was still there.
