Chaos Theory // by. varun vachhar
'an attempt to visualise music in two ways: the first using equations of dynamical systems which exhibit chaotic flow, such as the Lorenz attractor, mapped to the surface of a sphere, and the second using swarm dynamics. Through the process of beat detection and amplitude measurement, the behaviour of these two phenomenon is altered. The visualisation is rendered live and is purely generative.'

"stuff your eyes with wonder" --Ray Bradbury
'i cannot believe that the purpose of life is to be happy. I think the purpose of life is to be useful, to be responsible, to be compassionate. It is, above all to matter, to count, to stand for something, to have made some difference that you have lived at all.'

in other news... this is a little side project that has been keeping me busy this semester.
We construct and keep on constructing, yet intuition is still a good thing.

"Beijing is two cities. One is of power and of money. People don’t care who their neighbors are; they don’t trust you. The other city is one of desperation.
...Every year millions come to Beijing to build its bridges, roads, and houses. Each year they build a Beijing equal to the size of the city in 1949. They are Beijing’s slaves. They squat in illegal structures, which Beijing destroys as it keeps expanding. Who owns houses? Those who belong to the government, the coal bosses, the heads of big enterprises. They come to Beijing to give gifts—and the restaurants and karaoke parlors and saunas are very rich as a result."

Tondo: the Manila most tour guides leave out
Located northwest of the thriving business district and consumer-centric Makati City, Tondo is one of the oldest neighborhoods in the Philippines. While this area houses a conservatively estimated 630,000 + people, most visitors of Manila are never aware of its existence. This is because Tondo is the densist district in the Philippines, one of the poorest, and competing to be the largest slum in the world.
Fortunately we had a very humbling addition to our rainy Tuesday tour of Manila. With the guidance of our foxy tour guide (Robert's good friend Paul Fox), we didn't miss any of the important aspects of Manila: Intramuros, the Imelda Marcos Shoe Museum, Manila Cathedral, Old Manila, and Tondo. Paul takes regular visits to Tondo, bringing with him clothing that his younger brother and sister have outgrown and locally purchased treats such as chips and sweets. All strictly for the little ones. While it was tough to see, I am thankful that he let us join him on this visit outside of the bubble to see part of real Manila.

MOVE // EAT // LEARN
3 guys, 44 days, 11 countries, 18 flights, 38 thousand miles, an exploding volcano, 2 cameras and almost a terabyte of footage... all to turn 3 ambitious linear concepts based on movement, learning and food ....into 3 beautiful and hopefully compelling short films..... = a trip of a lifetime.
