Sad that Pitch wasn’t enough for tumblr for just being about a young black woman being the first woman in the NBL (MLB) and her being all shippy with another woman (a white woman, at that) is what was needed for buzz to finally be created about the show on tumblr.

ANYWAY, we can’t afford to be picky. Please keep watching. Tell all your friends. Cara might come back. Sure seems like she would. So watch EVERY. WEEK. to make sure you don’t miss her! 😉

I did not even know this happened but I’m not shocked.

Tumblr is a cesspool of where if two women even say the other’s name, they are shippable to the masses.

First off, her and Cara weren’t even all that great. It was on the lowest of lowkey’s baiting but it won’t be admitted. Because no one wants to admit that. When in actuality, it was a way to show Ginny that outside of baseball, she can have a good time and friends. Where she doesn’t have to be everything for everyone all the time and it’s okay to be there for herself and her well being. But you know, that’s not important because two women, one ship apparently.

I mean, fuck the actual representation of a WOC being the LEAD of the show and the character she’s playing is breaking a barrier in an all male sport in modern times (because as Ginny pointed out and it’s actually factual, she’s not the first). WITH NO STEREOTYPICAL NUISANCES in her character. Her story seemingly isn’t important enough for someone until a ~pretty woman~ comes around and suddenly, they want to catch up on the series and watch it.

Fuck the actual representation of a black couple where there is NO cheating and NO negativity around them but they’ve been together since at least 2007. They are actual goals on this show because they are stable, loving, supportive, critical but in a positive way but that’s not important because two women interacted and suddenly that’s enough. Especially with the white woman savior complex coming into the play.

You have a cast who seems to genuinely love each other and their characters and the story being told. Not to mention, a cast who EVERY WEEK is around and interacting with fans (when they can or are available), sometimes with both coasts. Thanking them for the support. Loving the moments we love and saying thanks for taking an hour out of OUR day to support THEM and THEIR WORK. But once again, not important because two women, one ship now.

Pitch may be in a cautious situation but we don’t need people like that around fake supporting the show. I love my ship but I watch Pitch because these stories and characters is what is missing on TV nowadays. I might not like certain characters and have been vocal about it but the producers and writers have written characters that are complex and have their moments in each and every episode. We have the main cast but even the supporting characters have gotten a chance to shine and that is rare and unheard of nowadays. You have a show that’s rooted in realism to what it’s about and yet, it isn’t too heavy handed so if someone who doesn’t like or know about baseball can follow along.
