*Time skip (2 months)*

(I gave Savannah a bit of an update, facial feature wise)

So two months have passed. Marcella went home but would be coming back in town for a couple days soon. She really likes it here and misses her bestie.

TW - cursing Savannah sat out the back of the bar till closing time. Lix empty out the place and closed up. He called her out for a drink in the empty bar. Savannah sat herself on the barstool, slouching over. Lix pulled out two beers for the each of them and walked around to the other side of the bar while asking, “How did turning him down go anyway?”

Savannah took the drink he was offering from his hand and replied, “Honestly dude you don’t wanna know.”

“Enlighten me,” Lix leaned on the bar.

“He has a damn girlfriend. Which I didn’t know about by the way. And he was a total prick,” Savannah explained.

“Jesus dude, what a dick. I knew that guy was bad news. Look, I’m sorry I didn’t warn you earlier, I didn’t want to over step. But that guy comes her day in day out trying to take home girls. He is a fucking creep. But I didn’t know he had a girlfriend or else I would have told you,” Lix felt like an idiot, he wishes he had just told Savannah the truth when she came in.

“It’s alright Lix, I needed to learn for myself. I just hope his poor girlfriend realizes how much of a dick he is. Next time he is here, call me. When my friend Marcella hears about this, she’s going to want to kick his ass for sure.”

Lix took a swig of his drink before saying, “Actually I won’t be here anymore. Tonight was my last night here, I’m moving jobs to another bar downtown.”

Savannah was a little sadden by the news. She finally felt like she was making a friend in this new big city. Savannah was just getting comfortable getting out and about again and she felt safe in this bar, knowing she could trust Lix. “So I won’t see you here again?”

“Unfortunately not sweetheart, but maybe I’ll see you around,” Lix gave Savannah a pat on the shoulder and a sad smile.

“Well good luck Lix, I really wish you the best,” the girl said, hiding as much of the sadness as possible. Her phone buzzed and she checked it and then said, “Oh my taxi is here, I’ve got to go. Thank you for the drink and saving my ass tonight!”

“Goodbye Savannah, don’t date anymore bastards alright?” The bartender called after her, with a smirk.

Savannah walked over to Willis, who was leaning against the wall for support. Boy was she fed up. “I think I should start heading home Willis, it’s getting late.”

“Where’s my drink baby?” He slurred, ignoring Sav as if she didn’t speak.

“Lix wouldn’t serve you, you’ve had enough,” Savannah folded her arms.

“Who?! Who’s ticks?” Willis blabbered, swaying back and forth.

“The bartender.”

“Oh that prick, he is so so annoying, never lets me have fun. I want fun. I want fun with you baby, all night long,” he said with drunken confidence while he moved closer.

Savannah ignored him despite wanting to bark, but she wasn’t going to fight with a drunk guy in the middle of the night. She looked down with her arms still crossed, “I’m going to order us separate taxis and-“

Savannah was interrupted by the very drunk man leaning in, trying to kiss her. Shocked, her knee jerk reaction was to put her on his face and push him away.

If Sav was being honest, Willis was starting to annoy her. Every time he spoke to her he was spitting accidental and slurring his words heavily. He was leaning on her for support a lot. He asked again for Savannah to buy them some drinks. She was glad to get a minute away from him.

“How’s the date going,” Lix asked

. “Oh, so wonderful, the date ever. He really knows how to treat a girl. I’ll be marrying him tomorrow,” Savannah said sarcastically, rolling her eyes. The bartender laughed and shook his head. “Two beers please, Lix.”

“Uh I can’t do that doll,” Lix scratched his head, while looking over to Willis.

“Why not?” The girl asked, looking confusedly at him, not catching on.

“Your date. Will, is it? You’re buying it for him. He can’t have anymore.”

Savannah looked over to Willis. He looked like he was about to hurl right then and there. Savannah sighed and looked away, “Then one for me please Lix.”

“So it’s really that bad, huh?” The bartender smirked, fixing the drink.

“Terrible. The dude won’t tell me a single thing about himself! I regret listening to my friend about coming here. I haven’t been on a date in over a year and this is what a get!” She slumped in her seat, and put her head in her hands.

  “A year huh? Why so long?” he was surprised a woman like her had gone so long without being wined and dined. It was fairly obvious she was gorgeous. The most beautiful girl he had ever seen walk into that bar that’s for sure.

The sudden reminder of Davian hit Savannah hard. Very hard. Although she wasn’t ready to talk about what happened to him, so reluctantly she responded, “Uh, I guess I’m just not over… my ex.”

Lix noticed her change in attitude, Savannah seemed deeply upset about talking about it. And if he was honest, Lix didn’t know what to say. He observed her further to see what was an appropriate response. He had his own problems with ex lovers but he wasn’t going to tell Savannah that. “Yeah, love isn’t easy.”

“I think I should end the date,” Savannah said, wanting to move on from the previous conversation.

“Do you have a ride home? I’ll be closing the bar soon anyway, so if you want you can wait in the back and wait on your taxi. Or I could take you home myself,” Lix kindly suggested, handing another customer a drink.

Dance Floor

It was a little while later and the two were getting close on the dance floor. It’s been a long time since Savannah let herself get that sort of attention. It was uncomfortable but sort of nice. She couldn’t lie that it felt nice to be wanted again. She tried to ignore the possible red flags with Willis and wanted to let loose. After all like Marcella said, it doesn’t have to go anywhere.

“I want to take you home,” Willis whispered in her ear.

“Umm not tonight buddy,” Savannah scoffed, moving away but still dancing. THAT was certainly not happening tonight. Plus, Lix was right. Willis was really drunk, more drunk. He had been asking Savannah buy him drinks all night, which made Savannah wonder if he was cut off like Lix first said.

When they got into the bar, Willis asked Savannah to order their drinks while he went to the bathroom. Savannah walked up the bar and asked for two drinks while reaching into her bag for her purse. When she looked up, she saw a familiar face from a few night’s prior.

“Lix right? I remember you,” Savannah said while taking a seat on the stool.

“Surprised you remember doll, you were quite drunk last time you were here,” Lix smiled, grabbing two beer bottles for her.

“Ugh yeah, don’t remind me. Still haven’t recovered from it,” Savannah joked, leaving the money on the counter.

Lix questioned, “What’s got you back so soon, you’re not with that drunk guy are you?”

Savannah was a little taken aback, she wondered if Willis had been drinking but now it seemed her suspicions were true. Although she didn’t think he was drunk, but maybe he was? But hey, who was she to judge. They are on a date at a bar after all. But something about heavily drinking before a first date didn’t sit right with Savannah. “Yeah I am, he seemed a little bit tipsy but I put it down to nerves. But I don’t think is is drunk, per say.”

Lix chuckled a little, leaned forward on the bar and pointed at Willis, “Savannah, he is stumbling towards the bathroom right now, surprised he is keeping himself standing if I’m being honest. If I knew that drink was for him I would’ve said no, not after cutting him off earlier.”

“Earlier?” Savannah leaned closer, intrigued. Had Willis been here already?

Sensing he had made some mistake or possibly over stepped a line, the bartender started cleaning some glasses and said, “Uh yeah. He was here earlier, or at least I think it was him. I can’t be sure.”

“Huh,” Savannah sat back and took a swig of her bottle. Then there was a hand on her shoulder, she looked up to see Willis.

“Wanna dance?” Willis looked down at her and half smiled, then looking to Lix. There seemed to be some tension but Savannah ignored it. Just try and have a good time, she told herself.

“Sure,” Savannah answered, looking back and forth between Lix and Willis.

First Date

Date Ready
