This video uses glitch work on a photograph I took of a Virgin Mary statue and samples clips from wiki leaks uploaded in 2010 of U.S. Apache helicopters killing journalists in Iraq. The contrast of the blue and green tint tells a narrative. The green stands for unreal and the blue stands for reality. The green tint takes on the images of the Virgin Mary because the United States claims to be a Christian nation, "One nation under God" although it contradicts nonviolent Christian practices, such as the killing of innocent people. The Glitch art represents a society that is in a battle between artist's technology and military technology as they compete to influence the youth. The soldier that leaked the Apache helicopter footage is a political prisoner. I used analog mixers and a circuit bent hdmi converter to creating the glitching.
