September 24, 2004, David Gilmour participated in the "The Strat Pack" concert, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Fender Stratocaster, at Wembley Arena, England.

Gilmour played three songs: "Marooned", "Coming Back To Life" and "Sorrow". He also participated in the final song of the event, "Stay With Me", along with other guests such as Ronnie Wood, Brian May, Joe Walsh, Phil Manzanera, among others.

The event was recorded and released in DVD format in May 2005 under the name "The Strat Pack Live In Concert" and is special for Pink Floyd fans because it contains a recording of "Marooned", a song that had been played live only twice in Oslo, Norway (1994) during The Division Bell tour. Many years later, Gilmour included it in the setlist of his "Luck and Strange" tour.

David Gilmour once said that he showed lot of tricks to Roger Waters and he also said that he knows how to play bas more than Roger himself. Gilmour was the switch on for Pink Floyd .

Location: On the River Thames, in England.

Year Built: 1911 – Originally constructed as a luxury riverboat.

Purchase: David Gilmour bought Astoria in 1986 and transformed it into a fully equipped recording studio.

Purpose: Used for Pink Floyd recordings. Notably, much of A Momentary Lapse of Reason and The Division Bell was recorded here.

Feature: It has the appearance of a classic Edwardian-era boat, but houses state-of-the-art recording equipment. From the outside, it looks like a work of art; inside, it’s a music laboratory.
