So the foreshadowing for Lily’s motivation was literally in chapter 5. He can’t really even stand being in the same room as Wrath and only went to the meeting assuming that she wouldn’t show up. “Were you traumatized by this person”, well…

I think it’s interesting that Lily is the only one of the traitor servamps who was motivated to betray the others because of another servamp. Presumably, Hugh and Jeje were at least partially motivated by their own instability. But Lily was seventh and should be one of the most stable servamps. Yet, seeing a servamp like Freya in action seems to be the core reason why he chose to side with the traitor faction. 

The difference in emotion is noteworthy too. In the earlier chapters (but chronologically in the modern day), Lily seemed afraid of her, but when he discussed meeting her in the past, it looks more like disgust rather than fear.
