Unexplored Territory
Fearstorm already liked Skyquake. He is fierce, but also fair, and dedicated to the cause. In short, he’s more or less precisely what Fearstorm wants in a superior. The drone doesn’t expect to be coddled by the officers above him, but he resents those who mistreat the vehicons. Skyquake isn’t like that. Hearing him speak so frankly about Starscream only furthers his esteem in the drone’s eyes. Fearstorm had died long before he’d met this mech, but he’s quite glad that this new seeker and his brother had stepped in before he’d returned to the land of the living.
"Hm. Maybe.." Fearstorm hadn’t investigated earth technology very much. He’d made a few brief forays into the “internet,” and while it was definitely very appealing with its midis and its neat animated pictures of fire and skulls, he hadn’t felt the need to spend a lot of on it. Maybe he should try again. "Either way, I hope he comes back soon. It just feels… wrong without him."
Fearstorm checks his position and veered into the right lane. Up ahead, there is a turn he’ll need to make to double back and complete his patrol route; it’s nearly time to headback to the ship.
Skyquake also has made few forays into the internet the humans like so much. He knows that Soundwave often scoured it for hours at a time, looking for any bit of information he could find, so he figures perhaps it can be useful.
He grunts at Fearstorm's comment about Megatron being missing. "I agree," he says. During the war, Skyquake lead many battles and went on many missions, often alone, but he never held a rank as high in the Decepticon hierarchy as he does now. In truth, he never imagined he would. Now he finds himself in a strange territory and sometimes, though he's not likely to admit it to anyone, he wonders if he is as effective a commander as he should be. Over the last several month,s he feels like he sees more mistakes than victories, and any sort of conflict with the enemy has become practically non-existent. Sometimes he finds himself wondering if they've all become shiftless, a ship of warriors without anything to fight, other than boredom.
He finds that he actually misses his masters presence. Megatron always had a focus, always had them doing something. Skyquake wonders if he's fit to command at all.
"One hopes he'll return to us sooner rather than later," Skyquake says.
