spent 3 hours going to the art store and forgot a specific colour I needed

#burnt umber….#tbf i went impulsively to get it over w bc i knew they had turpentine at the grocery a few blocks away but they were out so i was like #ok man sure i’ll walk 20 mins to the subway now I GUESS #i did get my burnt sienna great for skin fr would recommend also got spirits rather than turpentine #bc it was cheaper and it has no smell so its a win lol #brushes were insanely expensive tho i realized i can just make my paintings bigger and adding detail will be easier #5x7 isnt a good size when u dont have thin brushes

Actually, no, I don't think that friendships dropping like flies in your late 20s and early 30s because no one has time for that between overwork and family obligations and marriage and kids and partners and the ritual of the time slayer is normal and ok. No I don't think deep conversations and spontaneous adventures being replaced with a tired coffee every six months is a normal part of growing up. I don't think that emotional intimacy and soul bonds disintegrating in the face of practical inconvenience is a fact of life. I think that means something is deeply deeply wrong with our society and I will never forgive it for the friends I've lost

#my main two group of friends said they wanted to meet up more often this year bc twice or thrice a year is depressing. but work #and obligations make it so that we can never hang out all together. we meet up every 3 months or so. and trying to set up a date is painful #no next week i cant oh no i cant in two weeks oh no one is available in three weeks oh - our scheduled meeting was moved 7 weeks now #i want to see my friends

#txt #like i wanna put my fuckass doodles in galleries or wherever #or be able to live just painting what i wanna paint most of the time yknow? just producing #i'm thinking of applying to things but there arent any open and im always hesitant bc a lot of my work is digital which i know has less #validity in many ppls eyes and even tho im good at painting traditionally i need expensive materials and a big space to be able to work on #pieces that can be displayed with no issue. i know i can justify whatever but like yeah #kicks rocks #whatever man. i'll start by seeing where i can get good prints so i can print and frame some and go annoy coffee shops to see if they wanna #put up my fuckass doodles. also hard bc my body of work is so specific and not 'pretty' as decoration so i feel like no one would #accept to put it up yknow? and getting into actual galleries depends on having connections w established artists and urm i'm socially inept #it's also SO expensive to just display ur work? bc that comes out of pocket like yesterday i was talking w some friends and they were like #bruh i was quoted 600 bucks if i wanted to set up my work like????? whaddahell. i also work v small and that doesnt look good in galleries
