Today an adult Bald Eagle was perched in the tree where we saw the juvenile yesterday. The white head, wicked hooked beak and intense stare was pretty dramatic.

A fun day at Crescent Beach, BC bird watching. Saw 4 juvenile Bald Eagles on the sand while the tide was out and a pair of Great Blue Herons wading in the shallow waters of Boundary Bay.

Watching the Humpback Whales in the Gulf of California from Hacienda Encantada in Cabo San Lucas.

Diving with Dive Balam near Playa Del Carmen at the Pared Verde and Chun Zumbul reefs. Great visibility and some good photo opportunities.

Blue skies and high surf on the Mayan Riviera. Looking south towards the Royal Haciendas. Beautiful Snowy Egret out fishing.

It was a beautiful fall day for a visit to the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary in Calgary. It is in the heart of the city but you wouldn't know it. Saw a Merlin for the first time. He was eating something. Maybe a mouse? The Wood Ducks and Mallards were swimming in the lagoon.

Bumblebees at Cafe Martini

It's August and the Oregano is in full bloom at Cafe Martini. The Bumblebees were out in force today swarming the Oregano blossoms. Their wings beat so fast that they are a just a shimmer when the bumblebees are in flight.

The ponds at Marshall Springs in Fish Creek always provide some opportunities for spotting birds. Today is was a Green-Winged Teal and a Common Merganser. I didn't see any beavers but there was a large beaver lodge and evidence of the poplar trees that they were harvesting.

The flowering Almond bush is in bloom at Cafe Martini.

A pair of Tricoloured Bumblebees were out feasting on the nectar of the Nanjing Cherry blossoms. The trees are blossoming early this year.

I was riding my bike in Fish Creek Park looking to capture reflections. I managed to photograph a few birds as well. Photos taken at Marshal Springs and Bebo Grove, Fish Creek Park, Calgary Canada.
