For a while, the two of you just sit there watching the ocean.
You tilt your head back toward the sky. The stars are impossibly bright out here, strewn across the darkness in glittering clusters that seem close enough to touch. There are so many more than you’re used to, unobscured by city lights and glowing buildings. Somewhere among them, a familiar pattern catches your eye.
“Look,” you murmur, pointing upward. “I think that’s the Big Dipper.”
Levi follows your gesture, squinting faintly at the sky. “I don’t see shit.”
You snort softly. “No, look. Those four stars make the bowl, and the three trailing off there are the handle.”
“How the fuck am I supposed to know which stars you’re pointing at?” he says, turning toward you.
“Because they’re literally right—”
Your breath catches mid-sentence as you turn toward him, his face mere inches away.
Levi stills too.
The teasing in his eyes fades slowly as they move over yours, something darker burning behind them now—something you’ve caught glimpses of all evening.
Suddenly, you wish that you could read his mind. When his eyes flicker to your lips for half a second, you think you might know.
And then—

Summary: You run your café much like you run your life—steady, structured, and steeped in routine. When Levi Ackerman arrives for a routine health inspection, he’s surprised to find himself drawn to the quiet comfort of the space… and the owner who keeps it running. What starts as an awkward first meeting turns into an easy friendship neither of you expected, built on shared tea and comfortable silence. Over time, almost without noticing, it becomes something more.

It’s been eleven years.
A gust of wind shifts the branches overhead, and sunlight filters through in soft patterns across the ground.
He closes his eyes as the warmth brushes against his face.
He can see her. Long, dark hair—the same as his. The warmth in her tired eyes. Her fingers moving through his hair, voice low as she sang him to sleep over the noise of the apartment. He holds onto that feeling as long as he can.
Then Isabel. Always loud and laughing at something stupid. Her hair half tied into uneven red pigtails, already falling out no matter how many times they fixed it. He and Furlan used to have to hold her still just to get a brush through it. She'd fight them the whole time, and when they were done, it still looked like they hadn't done a damn thing.
He reaches into the caddy for a towel, shakes it out, and lays it carefully in front of the stones. Then he pulls out a soft-bristled brush, sweeping away fallen leaves and dried dirt caught in the grooves of the carving. He takes the spray bottle and mists the surface, wiping it down with a cloth. He folds it to a dry side and goes back over it again, working carefully through each carved letter. He peels the plastic from each bouquet, crinkling loud in the quiet, and sets it aside before arranging a few stems into the holders at the base of each stone. He adjusts them until they sit just right.
His hand smooths over his mother’s headstone, fingers slowing as they pass over her name. The stone is rough beneath his palm. He flexes his still-bandaged fingers.

Walking into his apartment at seven in the morning to find his friends sprawled across his living room doesn’t surprise him—thanks to Furlan’s warning over the phone.
Miche’s loud ass snoring cuts through a few half-awake greetings as he looks around—Hange cross legged on the floor, Erwin in the armchair, Furlan on the couch with Petra stretched out, her head in his lap.
Leave it to Four Eyes to drag everyone out in the middle of the night and rally them for a full day of work. Even if he’d never say it to their faces, he’s grateful you have them—people willing to show up for you without question, no matter the hour.
He regrets the thought the second Hange jumps to their feet, nearly sloshing their coffee on his rug as they set it down before crossing the room in a few quick strides to crush him in a bear hug. Arms pinned awkwardly at his sides, he resists the immediate urge to shove them off. He could—easily. But… he’s not a complete asshole. And, begrudgingly, he reminds himself of everything they’re doing to help.
So he just… stands there and takes it. For a few seconds. When they still don’t let go, he forces out, “Get—the fuck—off me.”
They laugh, loosening their grip. “I’m shocked you didn’t immediately shove me away, shorty.” At Levi’s glare, their grin only widens. “Gotta take what I can get.”

“I’m driving you because I care about you, shitty brat.”
A small huff of laughter slips from you, easing some of the tension in his shoulders as you settle back into your seat.
“I know you do,” you say. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to question…” Your gaze drops to where your fingers remain laced with his. “I guess it’s just hard for me to wrap my head around someone being there just… for me. Ever since… well. You know.”
He does know. Enough, at least. Not the full story—only that whatever happened forced you to grow up far sooner than you should have. He knows what that kind of grief does to a person. He can’t fault you for keeping it buried when he does the same.
His thoughts drift to the worn leather journal resting in the back seat. To the page tucked carefully at the very end that carried him through nights he would rather forget.
He’s never shown it to anyone. Not even Furlan. Still… he can’t help but wonder if letting you see that part of him might offer some small comfort. Might ease even a fraction of what you’re carrying. Before he can think better of it, he says your name. Your curious gaze meets his and his pulse kicks a little faster.
Is he really doing this?
But when your eyes soften, the small hint of a smile quiets the last of his doubt.
“Reach into my bag on the floor in the back seat,” he says. “There’s a leather journal.”
Your brows draw together, but you do as he asks. He swallows as you sift carefully through the bag before settling back into your seat, journal resting in your lap as you wait for him to continue.
Fuck. Calm down.
He takes a steady breath.
“Turn to the very back.”
As the journal opens, his stomach drops for a moment as he remembers everything else written there—pages never meant for anyone else’s eyes. But when you flip straight to the back, bypassing the rest entirely, he breathes in relief.
The familiar page rests where he left it. Your finger traces lightly along the darkened, scorched edge.
He can feel your attention on him, waiting for something more, but he can’t quite bring himself to look your way.
“Read that,” he says. “If you want.”
He recites the words silently, long since memorized—every phrase, every line, every imperfection burned into the paper… and into him.

CW: shoulder dislocation, professional/ethical boundary crossing, swearing, wrist pinning
@au-pril-blog
“I’m fucking fine,” the man growls through clenched teeth, twisting to yank his limp arm from your grasp. “I dont need you to—”
“Sir—” you cut in firmly, even as you internally wince at the movement. His shoulder is unnaturally flat, the distinct lump an obvious sign of a dislocation. “You need to stay still so I can reduce it. If you keep moving, you risk worsening the injury—increased pain, prolonged recovery… even permanent damage.”
His returning glare cuts straight through you. Still, as you hold your ground, meeting his stare, you register just how light his eyes are—a pale, striking shade of grey you don’t think you’ve ever seen before. You shove that thought aside. Attractive patients aren’t exactly rare… though most of them aren’t total assholes.
The air between you is tense as you both refuse to back down. Something flickers low in your stomach as you hold his gaze. Annoyance. Probably. But you don’t budge.
He exhales through his nose and rolls his eyes.
“I could’ve done this myself,” he mutters. “But fucking fine. Whatever. I don’t have all day.”
Relief washes over you, you really are too tired to fight on this. You’re used to stubborn patients, but good lord this man easily takes the cake.
“Alright then. Thanks so much,” you reply, a hint of sarcasm slipping in despite yourself.
His brow lifts slightly at that and you suppress the small smile threatening the corner of your mouth. You inhale slowly, refocusing.
“How is your pain? Do you n—”
The curtain to the ER bay is abruptly thrown open, and a petite girl with uneven red pigtails barrels inside, making a beeline straight for the exam bed.
“Levi, oh my god, I am so sorry,” she squeals, skidding to a stop at his side. “What h—”
She freezes, face contorting.
“Oh my god, ew. Your shoulder looks disgusting.”
The man, Levi apparently, shoots her a withering look, though there’s a noticeable softness in his eyes now, a stark contrast to the way he regarded you.
So the attitude is just reserved for you. Lovely.
“That’s what tends to happen when you get run over on fucking ice skates, brat.”
Well. Never mind.
She smiles sheepishly and mutters another apology. Your eyes flicker between them. Younger sister, maybe. Hard to tell—they look nothing alike. Her bright green eyes and unruly red hair stand in clear contrast to his pale irises and dark hair, sides cropped into a neat undercut that suits the sharp line of his jaw a little too well.
Irrelevant. You clear your throat.
“If you’re ready, I'll go ahead and proceed,” you cut in, and they both turn toward you like they’ve only just remembered you’re standing there. “Would you like her to stay, or…”
“Ooooh, I wanna watch! Are you going to pop his arm back in? Are you going to cut into it? Oh my g—”
“No.” He says it flatly, already shaking his head. “You are not watching this.”
She pouts immediately. “But Leeevi, please, please, I wanna—”
“I said no,” he repeats, tone final. “Go wait with Furlan. Now.”
She tilts her head with an exaggerated groan. “Ugh, fine. You’re no fun.”
You wait as she drags her feet toward the exit, pausing only to glare at him and stick her tongue out before disappearing behind the curtain. Levi exhales sharply, eyes rolling once more.
You raise a brow at him, a small smile pressing at the corner of your mouth. “Little sister, I take it?”
“Yeah. Howd you guess,” he replies dryly.
You let out a quiet breath of a laugh. “Just an inkling. I have a sense for these kinds of things. It’s a talent.” He glances at you from the corner of his eye, another soft huff leaving him that sounds suspiciously like a laugh.
“Alright then,” you continue, “I need you to sit up straight and face this way, please.”
He grunts as he shifts upright. You take his forearm in your hands again, and this time, he doesn’t pull away. His skin is warm beneath your fingers, muscle taut with anticipation.
“I’m going to guide the head of the humerus back into the socket,” you explain evenly, meeting his eyes. “It’s going to hurt for a moment… and then it should feel significantly better.”
“Just get on with it already,” he mutters.
You resist the urge to roll your eyes. “Take a slow breath in.”
His silver gaze searches yours. Whatever he’s looking for, he seems to find, because he gives a short nod and does as instructed. Supporting his elbow, you apply steady traction, carefully rotating the arm outward. There’s a brief moment of resistance, then a soft pop as the joint slides back into place.
A curse slips through his clenched teeth and his eyes squeeze shut. But almost immediately, the rigid set of his shoulders eases. You release his arm slowly, watching for any sign of lingering discomfort. Professional composure keeps your expression neutral… though privately, you feel the faintest flicker of satisfaction.
It’s not that you enjoy causing patients pain, of course.
But after that attitude?
…maybe just a little.
His eyes open again, narrowing on you intently. He rolls his shoulder experimentally, testing the range.
“…is that it?”
“Yep.” You reach for the sanitizer, rubbing your hands together briskly. “You’ll want to avoid strenuous movement for a few days. No lifting, no sudden rotation. Ice intermittently to help with swelling. Here—stand up.”
He rises as you retrieve the sling from the counter.
He watches closely as you demonstrate how to position it. When you reach to adjust the fabric near his collarbone, your fingers accidentally brush the side of his neck. His breath stills. For a split second,, his gaze seems to drop to your mouth before returning to your eyes.
You pretend not to notice.
He shifts his arm slightly, testing the support. “Feels a little loose.”
“It shouldn’t. Hold still,” you murmur, stepping closer as you move around him to correct the alignment.
He quiets as you close the distance, the warmth of him noticeable even through the thin hospital gown. Your fingers adjust the strap at the back of his shoulder, smoothing the fabric where it twists.
“Better?”
“Yeah.”
He doesnt move away.
Your hand lingers at the strap, fingers loosely curled in the fabric. You realize a second too late you haven’t let go. You feel the slow, steady rise and fall of his breathing.
You should step back.
Instead, you unnecessarily smooth the strap at the base of his neck again. His gaze tracks the movement of your hands before lifting to your face. He’s close enough now that you can see the faint tick in his jaw. His hand shifts, fingers settling lightly at your waist, as if giving you time to pull away.
Your breath falters, awareness tightening low in your stomach. He searches your eyes, waiting for hesitation.
He finds none. That seems to be all the permission he needs.
His sling brushes your sleeve as he leans closer, the fabric shifting between you. The distance closes without a word, warmth meeting your lips. The kiss is tentative for only a second before it deepens, your hand lifting instinctively toward his shoulders.
He pulls back sharply with a quiet hiss.
“Oh—shit, sorry!” you breathe, eyes widening as realization hits.
His gaze snaps back to yours, something heated simmering just beneath the surface.
“S’fine,” he mutters, voice rougher than before. This time when he kisses you, there’s far less restraint.
You barely register moving until your back meets the wall with a soft thud, a startled sound catching in your throat as his hand slides up your arms, guiding your wrists above your head. His grip is firm, keeping your hands pinned against the wall without jostling his injured shoulder.
“Now you cant mess up the shoulder you just fixed,” he murmurs against your mouth.
You almost manage a retort—almost—but the words disappear when his leg presses between yours. Somewhere in the back of your mind, a distant voice insists this is probably a terrible idea.

Thank you @veratrance for tagging me last Wednesday!! I didn't have any WIPs other than PwC, but you got me thinking to start something new 👀 Now I have a few ideas cooking! Can you tell I like strangers to lovers...?
Modern AU • Pilot!Levi • Smut • Strangers to Lovers
He is a Commercial Pilot.
You’re travelling to a conference in Germany.
Your connection in Paris is abruptly canceled, forcing an unplanned stay in the city for several days. It’s incredibly frustrating and inconvenient… and considerably complicated by the dark-haired, steel-eyed man you meet at the airport bar.
College AU • Strangers to Enemies to Lovers • Smut
Levi is an anthropology student at Paradis University. His roommate, Erwin, is studying criminal justice. When Erwin gets an internship with the FBI, he has to sublet his room for Fall Semester.
He recommends you, a childhood friend and recent transfer to Paradis.
Levi is quite reluctant about the sublet, even offering to cover the entirety of rent. Erwin, being Erwin, wears him down to somehow agreeing to it.
To his utter delight, you are a disaster of a roommate. Notable behaviors that drive him insane: Dishes soaking in the sink, socks everywhere, leaving laundry in machines, and worst of all, the damn fruity pebbles Levi somehow finds on every surface of the kitchen.
Its going to be a long semester.
No pressure tags! @letterstoparadis @veratrance @alluring-pansies @nilfgaardianleviosa @ohagi-bites @mikeychiba @anakinky
Hello!! Below is the list you've all waited for - the May WORD PROMPTS!
We had 80 words submitted. The list was cleaned of any doubled and too similar words (for example: Myth and Mythology were both submitted, so Myth was chosen for the randomization) which brought it down to 74 prompts, and then put through a randomizer thirteen times. The first 31 words were then chosen for the prompts.
We know, also, that there has been confusion around this theme and the word prompts. We will have a clarifying FAQ post soon, so if you have any questions, please let us know so we can address them properly!

Many moons (months) ago, I fell into a Levi x Reader fanfic spiral and ended up making a spreadsheet to track my TBR and thoughts.
I’ve created a template version for anyone who might want to do the same! Feel free to make a copy for personal use or adapt it for other fandoms and ships. If you share it publicly, credit is appreciated if possible.
Everything currently listed is Levi x Reader, with the very occasional Levi x OC.
If you’re an author and would like your work changed, removed, or added, please feel free to DM me.
