It’s the final evening to check out @enlighten_canberra Warmest thanks to my team for making this happen. It still feels a bit unreal. It was a challenging surface to work with but I’m really happy with how it turned out. Thanks again to @hugomichellgallery @blackartprojects @visit_australian_parliament @the_electric_canvas + Rebecca and Justine at DPS. ————— Standing in front of Parliament House at various times over the past 10 years I have experienced moments of deep thought about the strains placed on the peoples and lands of Australia caused by the fractured leadership of our government. So, I’m casting a spell over Parliament House to guide the ship forward by way of artwork. Focusing on the unity and connection of all people by acknowledging injustices (First Australians, the environment, immigration and issues of equality) my drawing projects an optimistic and bright future - one that counteracts the divisive actions of our elected leaders, both historic and current, as a shield of positivity over the entrance to the centre of power in this country. This year was a good solid mix of super amazing opportunities and new adventures. I’m feeling really positive about 2019. My new exhibition ‘Tasmanian Time Traveler’ opens in February in Hobart with @blackartprojects I’m really lucky to be surrounded by strong support + love from the people close to me. I couldn’t do it without them. Extra big thanks to @hugomichellgallery , @djhagger and the best part of my life 💚 @carla_mcrae Here’s some highlights from this year. 1. I was deeply honoured to be part of the @agsa.adelaidebiennial at the Art Gallery of South Australia. 2. I had super fun building the ‘Deep Abyss Mission’ at @melbournemuseum 3. I created and installed some new artworks at @petermaccancercentre 4. NITV will be airing ‘Westwind: Djalu’s Legacy’ on Sunday the 2nd of December at 8.30pm. You can also grab the DVD via @madmanent or stream via iTunes. I’m so happy to see this documentary going further out into the world.  It was a long process to get the film to this stage, but also the most rewarding and life changing project that I’ve been part of. Being invited into the family and visiting the remote island homelands with Djalu is something that I think about almost daily.
