She expresses regret that she allowed her father and husband to push her into marriage despite her own reservations, she repeatedly cites platonic love as the form that most endures, and the community model she sets up at Niskayuna appears to decentralize preexisting romantic partnerships as centers of familial units. It’s refreshing for me to see this lifestyle taken seriously rather than portrayed as a fraught, tormented sacrifice for everyone involved, or something only embraced due to fanaticism, repression, or trauma.
