Merleon but in a bathroom cuz some1 (Arthur) is a prat a thought Merlin deffo would not put a spell on him 4 selling Leon's fav sword without telling him and is trapping them both in there until Merlin undoes his donkey ear spell
(they will be trapped in there for exactly 4 hours before Merlin breaks a window 2 escape)
It had started when Arthur got it into his head that he needed to somehow make money to help out. And in his infinite wisdom, he'd decided to declutter Merlin and Leon's home for them, and sell some of the things they didn't need. Though had Arthur consulted them about this? Of course not! Why would he need to?
He'd sold Leon's favourite sword. Not intentionally. But he hadn't even asked if it would be ok to sell any of their things. He hadn't even gotten a good price for it!
Leon was heartbroken, Merlin was pissed. Arthur was pitifully confused. Sure, Leon had a lot of swords. But that had been his favourite! It had been one of his oldest swords still kept in the house.
It boiled down to Arthur being a prat. Didn't it always? Heaven forbid Arthur do something without finding a way to be a bit of a prat about it! Merlin appreciated him, and did in fact consider him a close friend. He was glad he was back!
He just wished he didn't need to go track down Leon's favourite sword and steal it back for him. That was going to be incredibly annoying to sort out. What he could do as he worked on that though, was get revenge on Arthur. Of course he was going to get revenge on Arthur!
"Merlin!" Arthur shouted through their house. They really needed to get Arthur out of their house and into his own one. Merlin doubled over laughing when he saw him. He really suited the donkey ears.
Leon laughed too, not quite as hard, but he certainly appreciated the humour of it. And, well, you couldn't blame him for appreciating his husband for cursing their friend in revenge.
Still, Arthur wasn't going to let them just get away with the revenge. He charged at them, forcing them back into the bathroom. The door was slammed in their faces.
"Well," Leon said through laughter. Merlin huffed.
"I'm not letting you out until you undo this!" Arthur shouted. Merlin could almost see Arthur gesturing to the donkey ears he'd been so lovingly gifted.
"He shouldn't have sold your sword," he told Leon as he settled onto the bath mat and used their tub as a back rest.
"Do you think he realises we have ways out of here?" Leon asked. Merlin shrugged.
"I'm not particularly in the mood to vanish the door," Merlin admitted. Leon shrugged.
"He'll give up before we do," he decided. Merlin wanted to believe him, but he wasn't actually all that sure.
Outwaiting Arthur didn't seem to be an option. Four hours had passed. Leon was thirsty, Merlin was hungry, and they were sick of sitting in their bathroom. Any moment now, surely, Arthur would fold. But it just didn't seem to happen. They'd heard him pilling furniture up in front of the door so they couldn't open it as easily.
"I'm going to break the window," Merlin said finally. Leon hummed and looked between Merlin and the window. They could break it, with magic or by hand, and they could get it replaced just as easily. It beat sitting on the floor of the bathroom for hours on end.
"Alright," he said. Merlin nodded. His eyes flashed gold and the glass in the window frame vanished.
Arthur was sat on a pile of kitchen chairs, still with donkey ears, when Merlin and Leon walked in the back door. He did a double take, and sighed. There was no choice but for him to accept defeat, at least in that moment
