Everyone loves Manaphy. It’s adorable, bubbly, and had a unique way of obtaining it back in the days of Diamond and Pearl. But despite this, I’ve had a hard experience with Manaphy that’s made it difficult to like it years later.

This story dates back a very long time, back to that nostalgic era. I pushed it to the back of my mind, but I recently found the old pictures I took regarding this awful experience.

So let’s look over these pictures together as I give what context I remember.

pkmn-monochrome: a pokepasta-inspired ask blog/webcomic about a rom hack made by a player who became jaded by modern pokemon. currently on indefinite hiatus but there's two years' worth of backlog to read! definitely my proudest character aside from NaN.

the surferverse: not pokepasta but part of the cinematic universe where the prof oak lore comic takes place in! centers around NaN and the surfer, but other characters are part of this canon too, like the gambler!

trainer jac: an OC of mine who doesn't have a designated pokepasta story, but is inspired by the pokemon black pasta. a player gets stuck inside a copy of it, but instead of taking it seriously, they play around with glitches. they end up pissing off a missingno that curses them with immortality. now they make their suffering everyone else's problem.

fallen leaf: a story about pokemon trainer leaf and her unfair erasure from canon. has a supplementary ask blog that is now inactive/complete. recommended to read it AFTER the original story!

forever mine: after naming a shaymin in memory of a girl who passed away, strange things start happening to the narrator's save file. the shaymin wants nothing more than to Fly.

bad egg manaphy: a story about the consequences of action replay and how it led to the loss of the narrator's manaphy egg.

my shining star: the narrator shares a few anecdotes about their failed shiny pokemon encounters. their only successful capture was a cubone, who evolved into a marowak named ★star★.

HM slave: the internal battery of the pokemon red cartridge has run dry, but the narrator still wants to play it. deciding not to get attached to anything, the player decides to do a starter-only run. the HM slave, a mew obtained via the infamous glitch, begins to interfere with the playthrough.

the rest of these were written by my partner and not me, but i DO own the characters now, and re-wrote/adapted some of them. (pokemon dead channel, perfect, and ashamed are the only ones without up-to-date rewrites.)

pokemon dead channel: the narrator revisits herr childhood copy of pokemon channel to find that her pikachu, BRVR, was not happy with being left to rot. also has a sequel.

PMD: explorers of death: a player’s blind playthrough goes horribly wrong after resetting over the result she got on her quiz, and lying to get something else. note: this one is nearly completely different from the original, and is my longest pasta with 500+ fake screencaps! also has a supplementary ask blog that is now inactive.

tommy boy: after being dared and bribed into a summoning ritual, a shiny trapinch appears in the narrator’s game. oddly, it refuses to obey the narrator, but seems perfectly fine for their sister…?

nasty plot: upon receiving a mystery gift celebi, the narrator abuses nasty plot to the point of it radically changing their celebi’s behavior.

perfect: a young girl, barely old enough to read, catches a pair of wooper. one pink, one blue. she rejects them both when she finds out they weren't the gender she wanted, so the two do whatever it takes to make her love them.

ashamed: after accidentally killing a shiny persian, the player's golduck is wracked with guilt.

askbrvrandcompany: an old, inactive ask blog that featured many of me and my partner's older pokepasta characters.

i also created fan-made remasters for the pokepastas pokemon black, tarnished gold, blue tears, and strangled red! these remasters keep the stories relatively untouched, just with light grammatical touch-ups and new fake screenshots!

that shoooould be all of my relevant pokepasta stuff, but please forgive me if i missed anything!

This had no right taking so long (cough cough I started making her a YEAR ago) but she's finally here and i think she turned out pretty awesome!

The tail is so fun to animate, head was the trickiest part to make and she doesn't really have glasses (idk how I'd do that) but its ok
