First thread I'm cross posting from Twitter...

- TW for miscarry scare (it's only a scare, I swear)
Alphas Jack Abbot and Michael Rabinovitch are in a non-traditional relationship. After years of talking about it they've finally decided to have a pup together using a surrogate. They're matched with a beta and make their donations and just kind of wait until it's confirmed that the sample has taken. Despite not picking up their scent on the beta at all, they still take care of her and go to all the appointments.
Meanwhile, Omega Dennis has accepted that he will likely be single for life. His omega refuses any alpha that approaches him and most scents just make him anxious. After months of working with a clinic he finally settles on a sample from a beta, the associated scent neutral enough and the profile is nice (smart, healthy, etc...)
Both Dennis and the alphas chosen Beta go into the clinic the same day for their procedures. The technician in charge is tired and working with a new trainee so she doesn't notice when the sample are mixed up. By the time it's realized, it's too late and both parties are already expecting.
Now, again, even though Robby and Jack don't smell themselves in the beta's pregnancy scent, they're assured it can take a little longer in a beta than an omega. And they believe it, until one of the doctor appointments overlaps with one of Dennis's. The omega goes to check in for his appointment and feels eyes locked on him.
Naturally, he assumes he's being judged for being a single and pregnant omega. He's completely unaware that he smells like he's been rolling around in the alphas den... Smells like he should be bundled up in their den, warm and safe, and not walking out and about alone and 4 months pregnant.
When the nurse comes out to grab the alphas and the beta for their checkup, Jack doesn't hesitate to bring it up. He calls to the omega, asking him if he was also inseminated here. Dennis is shocked but nods, confused. The beta, having watched how both alphas locked in on the omega, picks up on what's being asked. She asks for them to run a DNA test to confirm if she's carrying either alpha's baby.
After it's confirmed that her given sample was not either mans it's agreed that she will keep the baby (she wants to y'all, it's okay). Dennis doesn't do the test, afraid something will happen to the baby. He's insistent that if they really think he's carrying their pup, they can find out after the birth. In the meantime, he does everything he can to avoid the two men. He went into this planning to do it alone, he doesn't plan to change that. Besides, just because the beta got the wrong sample, doesn't mean he did, right?
Jack and Robby are persistent though, taking advantage of their different work shifts to keep tabs on the Omega. He notices them when he goes to the store, when he goes to mommy & me classes, and even lingering outside his work (He works at a different hospital in this AU, don't ask me).
He gives up on yelling and telling them to leave him alone after a few weeks. More specifically, he stops after he realizes that just occasionally having their scent around has eased his nausea. It's why he doesn't say anything when the boxes start showing up outside his apartments front door. His roommate, Trinity, makes jokes about how he's hoarding away the weird packages and being extra private about his room.
She's playful about it until she actually catches a whiff of his room and recognizes the scents. She doesn't say anything to him, knowing that he used a no-name sample (he didn't tell her about the mix up or the stalking because he was still in denial and now it feels too late) but when she goes to work... Let's just say it was an interesting and gossip filled day for the emergency department.
The alphas just take it, accepting that facing the angry omega is just another thing they'll have to do to get close to their omega. In the end they tell her about the mix up and explain how the omega won't let them test until after the birth, but that they're both sure the pup is theirs. Trinity sees where they're coming from, and just shrugs before she decides to start meddling.
She starts casually giving the alphas small things that have Dennis's scent on them and starts collecting the alphas gifts directly so that they stop randomly showing up at their apartment. The next month goes fairly well, everybody is more or less content. And then Dennis has a scare.
It's just some spotting, but it's sudden and terrifying and it's 2am. Trinity is at work, covering a random night shift and he's alone. He's quick to call her and head to PTMC. When he gets there he's given the usual fanfare that comes with a 6 month pregnant and scared omega (quick to go through triage, first in line for ultrasound, etc...).
Trinity comes to see him as soon as she can and when she realizes that he's still panicking despite his calm appearance, she grabs Abbot, throwing him in the room. The alpha is quick to be there, comforting Dennis and telling him everything is going to be okay. He sends a message off to Robby while the rest of the nightshift cover for him. Both alphas stay by his side the entire time he's in the ER, comforting and reassuring him.
After the scare is over and Dennis is informed that sometimes carriers have a bit of spotting from missed cycles, he finds himself being more open to the alphas. He leaves the apartment wearing clothes they left for him, he lets them walk with him when he spots them at the store, even helping push the cart and lift things. He even invites them to some of his pup preparation classes and check ups.
By the time his contractions come around, they're his first call when he heads to the hospital. Both Alphas are by his side and the birth is a breeze. Even the part where they find out it's twins and that their son just kept hiding his sister during every appointment... After their birth, Dennis no longer wants to do a DNA test. Holding his pups close, he can tell from their scents alone that the alphas are in fact the sire's.
When they're released from the hospital, Dennis doesn't fight it when the Alphas request they all return to their den. When they get there, the omega is shocked to find they've already prepared everything for the pups. Or well... a pup. But they waste no time ordering a second bed and getting extra clothes and supplies, while letting Dennis get settled in...
After months of stressing and panicking, the omega and alphas all feel at peace: bundled up in the freshly built nest, tucked away in the extra room of the alphas den... The new little family of 5 cuddle together, ready to face what comes next...
