How to lose Weight Without Being Frustrated
You stand on the scales several times a day and your weight is exactly the same each time. Maybe you are trying just a little too hard. It does not matter how often you watch the scales, it wonāt budge just because you want it to. Maybe a shift of mindset is what is needed.
Here is my suggestion.
Focus on a healthy lifestyle mindset rather than a weight-loss one.
If you do that then the weight issue will take care of itself.
I am not saying that there is a magic solution to losing weight, but you need to be realistic and not set unrealistic targets.
You should not try to aim to have a model-like figure or try to be like someone else other than who you really are, but rather be the best that you can with the abilities and talents which you have. Trying to be something which you are not is a sure recipe for unhappiness.
There are some things you can control and others you cannot. Let go of the things you cannot control and focus on the things you can control; these are your choices.
You can choose what you put in your mouth; this is not meant to make you feel guilty for eating. We need to eat.
Before I proceed further I want to point out that when you see someone who has achieved success which is out of the ordinary, it sometimes reaches the media, but their level of success may be unrealistic for the majority of people. This is because they are operating within their skill-sets and the gifts which are part of their nature.
You may not possess their skill-set and so have to work even harder than they have to achieve the same level of success.
The other thing to point out is that you do not know what other people have done to achieve what they have achieved. It is good to use the success of others as an inspiration but first of all you need to work within your own abilities and physique.Ā
Diet
Make small changes to your diet; these can really add up. If you make one small change to your diet per week, that is 52 changes you have made in 12 months.
It has been said, āA new habit needs to be repeated for 21 days before it becomes a regular habit.ā
Cut down your sugar hits and replace them with something more nutritious. Those sweet treats may be tasty but they do not offer the body any nutritious value.
As for exercise, this is a healthy habit which needs to be part of a healthy lifestyle. Doing something which you enjoy will make this fun otherwise exercising will be just a chore which you do just to take away the guilt of not exercising.
Being in the right head space is very important because if you are not in the right frame of mind then all of your efforts at living a healthy lifestyle will be all in vain. All of the excuses for not exercising will crop up with increasing regularity and before you know it you are back where you started. It is important to deal with what is going on in your world and not just dwell on them.
Focusing on your lifestyle and not your weight will go along way into helping you to live more healthily. If you do that then the outcome will take care of itself. Just donāt let your current circumstances be the driving factor in your state of mind.
Finally, discover your own happy place, some like to write, some like to play music, paint, build things, or go fishing. Your own personal hobbies are what makes you special.
All of the best.

Get Fit Bit By Bit
Running your first 5kĀ
Written by R. A. Stewart
I recently saw a man on TV give his testimony on how he lost weight after starting on a journey of jogging. On his first day he jogged 500 metres and walked the rest of the way.
As his fitness increased he increased the distance he jogged until gradually he was able to jog the entire 5k.
This was all done with a sensible diet regime. Certainly, a bad diet will undermine attempts to get fit.
Getting fit requires persistence and dedication. There is no point in just running a gut buster on a Saturday and not training on the other six days of the week because by the time the following Saturday comes around the benefit of the previous Saturdayās gut busting run will be lost.
āIt is hard to get fit but easy to lose itā is a quote I have heard.
Inactivity is a sure way to lose your fitness.
A horse trainer once said to a reporter, āIf you walk up a mountain you will be stiff and sore the next day but if you walk up a mountain every day for ninety days then by the ninetieth day you will be able to do it easily.ā
In a nut shell, getting from where you are to where you would like to be takes consistency and hard work, there is no other way but with consistency and persistence you can do it. With increased fitness things will get easier.Ā
I remember an old school teacher told us how one local lad became fit starting from scratch. He would jog to one telegraph pole and walk the next one, jog one then walk one, continuing that throughout the run. Then after a week he jogged to two telegraph poles for every one he walked to and continued this two to one ratio until he made it three to one, then four to one. Eventually he was able to jog the entire journey.
In those days there were lots of wooden telegraph poles along the side of the road.Ā
It takes a lot of effort to make changes in your life and changing your lifestyle will make a difference to your health and well-being.
In several countries around the world there are park runs which take place every Saturday morning; these are free to participate in. You register to join and are allocated your own personal barcode which you take with you on your run and show it to the person who scans the barcode after you finish your run. Your time and finishing details are then sent to you.Ā
I have done a number of these 5k park runs. They are ideal for beginners because with several hundred runners in each race there is always someone who is at your level.
If you are an experienced runner who is used to doing long distances then it is a good idea to practice your sprinting by doing wind sprints as well because this can really give you an edge in the sprint to the finish rather than just plodding along one paced. It's a suggestion which was put to me after I told someone at athletics recently that I tend to go up and down on the same spot in the sprint races. He said, āYou donāt practice sprinting enough.ā
He suggested that I should practice sprinting down hill.Ā
Comment taken on board.
