Around noon or so Socks and I snuck back to the river to chase the toothies we spotted yesterday. We found some fish, spooked some fish, rested them and would drift through again. Then it happened we’re working a fish on the bank lying next to some deadfall. We’re guessing he’s low 30’s. My flies on the otherside of him sitting inches from his face, I bounce it and he moves, fast, had you blinked you would of missed it. I set. At first I feared I may have snagged him but as the fight wore on we could see the nestled right in the corner of his mouth. After socks nets the fish. He looks at me and says “Are we spinning?” Turns out I left the motor on the whole time and throughout the whole battle we were spinning in circles. We get the tape on him 37 on the dot. I was shaking for quite some time.
