Occasionally I think back on the really sad days, the hard days, the scared days, the lonely days, the days when I had no place I fit in... & I'm just grateful I made it. Grateful that on the other side of all that was a side of life I (at times) didn't believe existed. A happiness I only day dreamed about. A fulfilment that seemed impossible to ever reach. I did so much healing to get to her, I went through so much pain to get to her.

Falling in love with Melanie was like coming home for the first time in a long time. We fell in love over Brent Faiyaz, over petting stray cats, over good food, mountains & sleeping in. We fell in love over earth & especially it's flowers, over lots of smiles & lots of laughs, we fell in love over my kids & our love for our families. We fell in love over blunts & cereal in bed, deep conversations & this fire ass chemistry. We fell in love over hot make-outs, soft skin & the way we look first thing in the morning.
