Ryder's    emerald    eyes    sparkled    mischievously     as    he    felt    the    rush    of    adrenaline    from    being    pulled     behind    a    solid    wall  .     The     compliment    thrown    his    way    made    him    chuckle    softly,     appreciating    the    unexpected    gesture.    He    had   encountered    his     fair    share    of    dangerous    situations,    but   this    particular    encounter   was   proving    to   be    intriguing.   Ryder    couldn't    help    but    raise    an   eyebrow,    amused by   the    sudden   role   reversal.    Vash    seemed   to   exude    charm,    but    Ryder    was    never    one    to    back    down    from    a    flirtatious     challenge.    He     leaned    in    slightly,  relishing    the    proximity    between    them.

He didn't think that someone would return his flirtatious advances, after all, most people would push him away and with a nervous chuckle and smile he would bid them 'until next time' and once again flirt up a storm but instead the red head leans in, flirting back and stealing a kiss from him.

Blue eyes wide with shock. This seriously has never happened before so he's frozen in place until their lips part. The guns still blazing on the other side of the wall, smiling the blonde wonders how he can get either of them out of this situation, after all this mysterious man was his priority to keep him safe.

❝ That's a good question, maybe an answer over dinner would be better than right now? ❞

The bandits are only after him after all, he could always just meet up with him later and make a break for it in order to keep the other safe. He moves against the wall freeing the male from his grasp and kneeling low against the wall.

“Hey, now. Don’t go gettin' all soggy on me.”

The Typhoon's eyes become endless pools of neon blue when he cries. They are so bright and so beautiful that its hazardous to look at them. A man could drown in their depths. Wolfwood begins to turn his face from their peril, but it's caught by compassionate hands.

He wants to argue that this is all wrong, that it will be the death of them if they fall too deep. He wants to admit how hard he’s tried to keep his own heart quiet, but when he’s kissed, the world falls away. Everything feels tranquil as Vash snuggles against his shoulder and repeats his feelings. 

Nick open's his mouth to return them, but finds his voice has fallen asleep. It takes some doing to rouse it from the den of his throat. His body is more cooperative. One arm pulls from the ground and hovers shyly behind the other man's back while working up the courage to rest a hand on The Typhoon’s shoulders.

 “Yeah,” he whispers. “…you too.”

Soggy? He wasn't the one that was getting that soggy. The way that Wolfwood pulls him in makes Vash inch closer to him to rest more comfortably in his arms. A smile across his lips as he muses to himself.

❝ I think we are both going soggy. ❞

Vash is a bit surprised at himself. Here he thought it would have to be romantic, or perfect. Instead it had slipped from his lips as his thoughts escaped him too busy admiring the man before him. Even now he couldn't stop staring if he looked at him, those onyx eyes would stare back and pull him into another kiss, but he is perfectly content there by his side.

As he hears the whispers of 'you too' from the other his heart fluttered in his chest. Hearing it back even partially he could feel his cheeks warm with embarrassment. He swears that one day when he hears Wolfwood finally say it back in full he'll drop his gun mid-gunfight.

❝ I guess this means I have to be more careful from now on. ❞

He smiles up at Wolfwood.

Knives’s grip immediately released the bedding at Vash’s urging, and he latched onto that wrist like a lifeline. He wanted Knives to calm, but the closer he came, the more real he confirmed himself to be, the more upset boiled inside. Tears spilled hot down Knives’s cheeks as their foreheads met. His breath stopped, everything inside him so tight to hold in the need to sob like a child that he couldn’t draw in air.

You were dead, his mind wailed, and images flashed across his mind, too vivid, too perfect. He’d never forget it. Vash’s lifeless form in his arms, hair black with decay, power sizzling off of them and Vash’s blood coating his bare torso and arms. And Knives himself, pleading—begging—humans to save him. Please, save him. He’s dying. He’s all I have left, please.

Knives’s hands caught Vash’s waist, clumsy, needing to touch him. Afraid of causing him more pain but needing him to be his anchor.

“I killed you,” he whispered in shame. Even with his brother alive in front of him now, it didn’t banish the certainty he’d felt at the time. That he’d lived was nothing short of a miracle. Slowly, Knives leaned further into his brother’s form, drawing him as carefully into an embrace as his shaky limbs would allow. He didn’t deserve this, he shouldn’t find so much comfort in it after what he’d done. But it was the only thing that made sense as he tried to banish the sight of his blade piercing through his brother in his final moments of hubris. He really thought Vash was going to kill him, and had committed to doing the same in return—and he’d been so, so wrong. Unforgivable. Beyond fixable.

His grip was tight on the sheets and tight on his wrists as well. Vash flinched a little but he didn't pull away because the moment that he did he was sure that Knives would break down. As their foreheads touched waves of his memory came flooding in and what had happened and how they had gotten there. That answered some of his questions but he was surprised to see him begging for humans to help him. Vash didn't realize that his life was hanging in the balance, Knives' voice echoing in the space between them through their gate.

❝ But I'm not dead. ❞

He answers Knives with his voice and softly pulls away to look back at him. Tears, another first time he is witnessing this type of emotion from him. With a smile and the release of his wrists he pushes away the tears from his face. Shaky hands wrap around his waist, the now black haired plant allows himself to fall into Knives' arms in a embrace. He tries his best as arms wrap around his brother's waist as well, the mechanical arm able to give a tighter squeeze but his right was much weaker, he still had much recovering to do.

❝ I'm still here so you couldn't have killed me. ❞

The call of his name stung the back of his eyes as happy tears started to flood forth. After fighting each other for so long he was so happy that Knives finally came back to him.

A jaw clenched at the other's aborted answer, his entire being bleeding rage, a barely contained beast until the other relented and answered. The other confirmed what he already knew, Plants don't eat for sustenance, but rather habit or want, though it didn't release the other from his scorn.

"A few days. And you are correct, Lord-" he stopped then, the word feeling sour and vile on his tongue, the betrayal still so fresh, even if he had expected it.

"Master Knives never ate, found the very fact I had to repulsive." he affirms before his hand snapped up, finger pointed sharply at the other like a scolding mother.

"This fact aside. You find joy in it, no? Do not give up your pleasures for my sake again, Vash the Stampede. Or may the Gods have mercy on you, I will send you to Valhalla myself. Have I made myself clear?" his voice was sharp, his notes firm, but they came from a place of warmth deep down, even if he struggled to show it it was there.

What was he was going to call his brother? 'Lord' or 'Master' just didn't seem appropriate and for a moment he wonders what exactly he had been telling his 'gun-ho guns'. Plants were no superior beings like he thought they were, after all plants were man-made and plants could not live without the other. Vash sighs to himself.

❝ Legato ... You are a free person now, you no longer need to address my brother as 'lord' or 'master', you are your own master now. ❞

It was true what Legato said that he did enjoy food and he wasn't surprised that his brother didn't continue Rem's teachings after the fall. He always hated doing it. He pouts as he looks down at his bowl for a moment.

Would he neglect himself in order to feed Legato again if it was needed? Without a second thought he would, and would still get an ear full from him. It had been a long while since he had been in trouble, the last time he recalled a similar moment like this was when Vash had hit Nai for being mean to him and Rem scolded him. Vash raises his hands and surrenders with a smile followed by a warm laugh.
