pt. 1
Seraphina had been drinking most of the day, trying her hardest to look sober, despite the fact that she was anything but. She still had a glass in her hand although it was quickly diminishing. Seeing one of the girls who worked for her, she stumbled over to her. āYou need to get me a drink.ā she said bluntly, ignoring what the brunette had said.
Georgia sighed when she recognized Seraphina, figuring there'd be something dumb about the shop to talk about. "Whatā" she tried to get it over with before seeing the drink in her hand. "You already have one, we're not in a bar, and I'm not a bartender. Wanna rethink that?"
Conrad had decided to go outside for some fresh air, and found himself walking behind an unfamiliar girl, who turned to address him rudely. āWhat led you to that presumption? I suppose your behind is nice enough, but itās hardly that captivating, let me assure you.ā
"It's definitely that captivating," she argued for the hell of it, giving him another quick glance as she went on her way. "You've been walking behind me for at least a few minutes now. Does that not count as following?"
So far, Bryan had yet to meet any supers as they were called, though that hardly bothered him one bit. Still, he wouldāve liked to get out and about like some of the other āslaves,ā not that heād enjoy doing what it would take to get there. The girl in front of him seemed to understand all this as well. He could tell that writ on her face was the apology of all the otherāslavesā that heād encountered. āSome would say that Iām mighty insaneā¦but thatās still up for review,ā he said with a slight nod of his head.
"Iāve heard rumors that maybe getting me a job would get me some kind of out there, at least out of the cells. That true?" he asked with a curious tilt of his head.Ā
"So you'd believe right off the bat that you're on an island of fucked up creatures and meant to be a slave for them? S'that how mighty insane you are?" Usually she didn't come right out with it. Still, she expected the reaction she got from most others around. At least he was fairly calm for now.
"That's true," she nodded, "But just for a while every day. Or every week ā I don't know how it is when you're unclaimed. It doesn't mean you'll find a way off the island or anything, though."

In a mood for no particular reason (what was new?), Georgia finished her shift and trudged through the town. It was mildly empty at the moment, so when she noticed someone nearby, they stuck in her memory for a while, which made it all too easy to identify them walking behind her a few minutes later. "Do you need something from me or is my ass so great you have to follow?"
Ryan frowned slightly as she mentioned work, giving her a small shrug of his shoulders. āNew job, new hours. Iām rented right now so, yāknow, some freedom.ā Enough to wander and stretch his legs, but not enough to actually feel free. He wondered if she ever did anymore, or if after a certain point they all just got used to captivity. Raising the drink, he chuckled a little and waved it off. āDonāt worry about it, Iām sure we can find more later.ā Not that she looked like she needed anymore, or perhaps she did. āHoly crap, really?ā He was sure he looked rather comical at that point, jaw dropped and eyes wide. He hadnāt thought about it before, but it made sense that if none of them could ever leave, theyād be here for years. It was just a bit jarring to run into actual proof of that. āWish I knew it was your birthday, I would have gotten you a gift.ā He joked, trying to lift the mood again. It was her birthday after all.
"Hmā Where? What?" The options for work were still somewhat limited there. She probably knew of the place, might've even worked there at some point. "Who's the lucky renter?" That was news, at least. Each time they'd talked before, there hadn't been much about him being taken out, though maybe it just hadn't come up. "Won't do much unless you're super lightweight, though." As long as he was up for it, she wanted him to be at least somewhere near her level of impairment, and dug around in her pockets to find some money to hand him. "There's a bar over there..." she nodded around the corner, leaving it up to him. "Yeahā Don't look so surprised, happens every year. I don't even know if it's today, but it's getting there. Might've even missed it." That was a lie, she knew the date for once and wished it was still a mystery. "Least I can drink legally or whatever here."
Itād been a couple days now, a couple days that Bryan had spent looking around his cell, watching as figures moved past. His first day, heād been groggy from the chloroformā¦he had assumed it was something like that due to the thick fogginess in his brain and the cotton-like feeling that carpeted his tongue. The next couple days had been filled with his body rejecting all food and water heād wanted to imbibe and ingest while his body had sought for alcohol, drugs, anything to keep him going in the way heād become accustomed. Only within the last day or so had he started to get his bearings, looking around himself at the cell, the sparsely furnished dungeon where he was held. He could see the figures more clearly, others who seemed stuck, like him and some who walked with their heads high outside the cages. āWhere the fuck am I?ā he growled, his voice catching in his scratchy throat.
Stopping in front of the man's cell, Georgia observed him for a while. It'd been forever since her own arrival, but she remembered the feeling. Confusion, shock, fear, exhaustion, pain, hunger. So many things colliding at once and only turning out worse once she found out where she was. Some seemed okay to begin with, but this one reminded her of herself back then. Maybe they'd had a similar way of ending up there.
"Can't tell you that unless you're fucking insane," she shrugged, leaning on the bars. The number of new humans that woke up there already knowing about the supernatural was very low. Even with that essential piece of information taken away, there was always someĀ retort about slavery being illegal, like that made it impossible. "Try to get out, it's the only way you'll find out for sure without some fucked up shit happening. Like, have someone take you out... Never mind, that wouldn't work eitherā"
Braeden grabbed her leg and twisted it so it was at the perfect angle for him to break it. āTrust me, darling, I donāt think thatās a good idea.ā
She didn't understand how he was even able to touch her, but it was no news to her that magic could be faulty. "Neither is that," Georgia looked down her leg to where he'd seized it, continuing to struggle. "Put your micro-dick back where it belongs and we can call it a day."
"Boring? You have no idea." Blaze said, shaking her head at the other girl. All those countless hours, trying not to go crazy, thinking about how her life was slowly slipping away minute after minute in the cellā¦It was almost torturous. Even sleep brought little respite, her dreams jolting her back to reality with fear or pain or longing. "Home? Really? I canāt even imagineā¦" Blaze said, almost to herself before sighing. If she ever had the chance to go back, the destination wouldnāt be home. Still, going to the mainland was somethingā¦foreign. "He canāt just take me now. I thought I had to be claimed for that." she said with a slight frown. She would have asked if she thought he could take her back to the real world, if even for a day. "Dunno, sometimes I feel like heāll leave for his job and decide not to come backā¦" she trailed off quietly.Ā
"More than boring, it's just a start." She still thought it was a privilege to be bored there if it meant nothing was going on instead of something horrible. But it was an easy, basic way to describe the cells. The best they could be was boring. Her point still went, though; there was no reason to want to be in them. "Not quite, but I saw my parents, anyway..." Looking back on it, she'd have enjoyed it much more if it'd been her real home and not some sweltering town in Florida she'd never seen before. But who else in her situation could say they'd been off the island at all? "Oh, yeahā guess you would probably have to be claimed first. But it could happen soon, hm?" At least Blaze knew the option was there if the vampire ever made things permanent. "What job?" she frowned. Why did someone living there have a job somewhere else?

"I don't give a shit that we're halfway through February and people feel the need to celebrate it but I do love you."
"This is awkward as fuck, I donā even like yeh."
"I ātink Iāll geā way ahead oā meself in thaā respect. Yeh ātink ām great." he gave her a mock smug grin. The more he thought about the fact that they were abe to care for each other so much with hardly any fucking information on either of them was pretty remarkable. Though, he did worry that, the more she learned about him, the less she might want him. "Eh, I could do moreā¦likeā¦I donā know. Whaā deh yeh want? See? I deh a loā oā sloppy displays oā affection." he chuckled. He thought on it, the way he was a few years ago, heād have wanted to burn the place to the ground, "Iād have wanted to fuck shit upā¦Iād āave gone through punishment until I could barely stand it jusā so I could give āem a piece oā me mind anā get as many punches in as possible." It was weird thinking bout it the other way around but something more supers should probably do. Her response to his actions with Keegan did make him feel a bit better but heās never feel okay about what heād done. "She did. Anāā¦I could never imagine hurtinā her buā fuckā¦it happened." He wrapped his arms around the beauty and gave her a quick kiss before he looked up at her, "Itā¦itās a touchy subjectā¦he abandoned me anā me mam and then she died anā I blame āim, I do. Every time I leave Finn I feel like ām as shit oā a dad as he was."
"Nah, I guess you're alright, wouldn't say great, though." She butted her head against his gently. "What do you mean, more? Could always go and get your eyes ripped out for me again, if that suits you." It was things like that which she resented yet couldn't help but be grateful for. "You're enough." There were some things missing between them, like how much they knew about each other, but weren't they working on that right now? He gave her absolutely nothing to complain about, and everything to be satisfied with. She listened to his thoughts on how he'd be if their places were switched. He was sure of himself, while she had no idea how different she'd be as a werewolf, or whatever else. "I'd still respect you, then." Granted that she'd keep this much of herself as some other creature. That was too much to think on, though, and her mind was soon turned to the experience he'd just shared. "It happened," she repeated with a slight nod, not wanting to brush it off completely, nor make too big a deal of it. After he'd pulled out of the kiss, she stayed close, gazing down at him. "Sorry," Georgia bit her lip, mentally vowing not to bring it up like that anymore. That, and she was sorry the piece of shit man he had for a father had affected him so badly. "It's not the same with Finnā She seems fine, you visit plenty, and it's not like she even told you for years."
"Easy, donāt hurt yourself." Ryan told her, holding his hand out, almost as if to take her hand to comfort it in its pain. Then halfway through, aborted the motion and brought his hand to the wall instead, to help guide him as he sat down beside her. "Fair enough." He laughed at her initial explanation. Sometimes you just wanted to get drunk to get drunk, why not blur the lines of reality. Though, as she started talking again, he started picking up on a deeper reason. He looked down at the drink she offered him for a second before taking it from her hand. "Thanks." He added, giving her a small smile before having a drink, then shrugged.Ā "Weāre all aging, every day, every minute, every second we get just a little bit older. Why having so much trouble accepting it today?"
"Wasn't me, it's the fucking ground..." The pain ceased and left her mind after a moment, anyway, leaving her confused as he reached out his hand before pushing it to the wall. "Don't you have to go to work?" she wondered when he sat, somehow always assuming he was on his way to or from there. Somehow the studio's closing hadn't been noticed by her. Georgia sighed, noticing how little liquid the drink she'd given him actually had in it, "Oh, that's not much at all," she muttered to herself. If she remembered in a little while, she'd go back and find something better for him. "No y'don't really notice it 'til a year goes by or whatever. I got here when I was eighteen an' now I guess 'm twentyā"
