I like the implication that pianists arenât musicians
um u âlike classical musicâ but donât even listen to John Merbecke (c. 1510 â c. 1585), producer of the first musical setting for the English liturgy, who later published The Booke of Common Praier Noted 1549? ok đđđ
someone finally said it đ¤ đŠ đ
Saying that is saying something akin to âYouâre not a real fan unless you can tell me the Coachâs Fatherâs Grandfatherâs middle name and where he was born. Oh, donât forget the birth date as well. And his Zodiac sign.â If I like classical music, thatâs for me to decide. That is for me to proclaim. Iâll be honest, Iâve never even heard of Merbecke. Not ever. I like several Classical composers though. So, that does not make me any less of a fan. Get over your selves.

two kinds of people
also, people who mostly post classical music stuff, feel free to add yourselves to this post. a lot of the people that I follow are inactive now or Iâve already mentioned them in the past.
passersby when Iâm improvising with the windows open
me after a bad practice session, tossing my instrument into its case: Youâre just a piece of twisted wood and metal. Shut the fuck up. See if I care.

Some cute musical things to do during quarantineÂ
Listen to your favorite songs and find artwork or photos that match their vibeÂ
Find a score or piece of sheet music and read through it slowly, follow along and play the piece in your mind from start to finish. Take your time.Â
Send music to a friend. Introduce the people you love to the music you love
Make a Pinterest board for each different type of music you like to listen toÂ
Try learning a new song on an instrument you donât play or arenât skilled in â donât have any instruments at hand? Try percussions! Or sing!Â
Put on an album that deserves more love and go for a walk in a direction youâve never explored beforeÂ
Play music out loud and dance. Spin in circles like nobody is watching. Let it all go
This quarantine has finally given me time to sit in my room and listen to all of my favourite classical pieces in full, from beginning to end, without interruption. And honestly, itâs like meditation. With that music, my mind is transported elsewhere.
To have nothing on my hands but time makes me feel like a 19th century noble lounging in a salon listening to the chamber group play for hours, or like a shepherd watching the sunset in the spring and just letting time pass them by...
Classical music is such a fantastic form of art that can take your mind to different times, places and moods, and Iâve gotta say that being able to take a moment to listen to it is so soothing.
thoughts?
Some days, being a musician is the hardest thing in the world. Sometimes it feels impossible.
When you spend hours and hours alone in a practice room, sometimes playing the same five notes over and over and over again until you think youâll go insane.
When you hear such beautiful music in your head but you canât make it come out, no matter how hard you try.
When youâre your own harshest critic, and thereâs nothing you can do to make yourself happy, and everything youâre doing is wrong.
And worst, there are those horrible days when your very best is simply not good enough, when all you can so is go back into that practice room and aim for a perfection thatâs impossible to attain.
But itâs all worth it. For that one perfect play-through, even if youâre in the practice room and the only person to hear it. For that one passage or harmony that twists your heart just so and reminds you why youâre a musician, sending you right back into that practice room not because you fell short but because a million different opportunities just opened up and you canât stand not making music right that second. For that utterly complete exhaustion of mind and body, burning hands, that only comes after a performance that took everything you have and a little bit more. For the realization that THEREâS NO SUCH THING AS PERFECT, that ârightâ is an infinity of possibility, that thereâs no such thing as âwrong.â
And that is why I keep going back to the practice room day after day, pushing through inconveniences and disappointments. Because Iâm addicted to that indescribable feeling of pouring out music and knowing itâs not coming from me, that Iâm an instrument myself. My happiest and saddest moments have all been because of music, but music gets me through the sad and makes me so much more than happy. Because I have music in my heart and in my hands, and I can no more keep it inside me than I can stop my heart beating or my lungs breathing.

âSound Of My Heartâ by Bianca Green
reylo is dead. mozart/salieri (Amadeus, 1984) is in. mozart/salieri from the movie amadeus is the new reylo
I walked into the bathroom at the place I work and this 14 year old girl kept glaring at me. Mind you, my hair is in a garish powdered pink wig, and Iâm wearing breeches, and my lipstick is Mozart ball scented. She kept glaring at me so I eventually said, âis there a problem?â and I kid you not, she spat, âare you a saliozart ?â
Mein Gott, am I right?
