melody:
“You’ve heard me beg and scream your name plenty of times in the past.” she pointed out. “And in your office the other night. We could do that again if you want.” Melody offered, a smile spreading on her lips as he finally pulled away from her. She’d take him anywhere if it just meant being with him. If she could tempt him, even if it was just sex, maybe he’d stick around for awhile. Truthfully, she was incredibly angry with him. Hurt from how he left her ten years ago, confused as to why he came back and never bothered to find her. They had run into each other by chance. But the love of being by his side currently outweighed those emotions.
She got to her feet to start getting dressed and didn’t bother to protest when he took her panties. “I figured that you’d be taking them off of me soon enough anyway.” she replied, shrugging her shoulders. Her jeans followed her shirt until she was fully dressed, save underwear of course. And she took a moment to look at him, watching him as he went for his own pants. Memories briefly crossed her mind but she pushed them away. They weren’t children anymore. Things were different. perhaps she shouldn’t want him in the way she still did.
“So I don’t get to treat you after a fight anymore? A shame, I always did like playing nurse. I’m sure there’s someone else around for that though.” she teased, almost playing into their discussion of jealousy. It was nice to think that he could want her in the same way he did when they were teenagers. Even if he didn’t, maybe she could pretend.
“Well, if there’s a risk of you being jealous, maybe I should just cancel the date I was going on this week.”
“How do you think it became one of my favorites?” he pointed out as he continued what he was doing. Dressing, keeping his thoughts to himself. They were riotous, as they usually were. This go around, they were pretty self-despising, though. What was he doing? Why was he doing this to the both of them? He was opening wounds, opening both of them to great dangers that couldn’t be stopped and that was horrible! If he still loved her (and he did), then why was he doing something that would only end up hurting them?
The only answer he had was because he was a damned bastard. It didn’t sit well.
Geog glanced her way after a quick check of his phone. Nothing, which was a blissful change. He’d caught the comment, wondered how to make it teasing. Opted for serious. “I have rules, many of them now. One you should know is that I don’t juggle partners, business or pleasure.” And heat lingered in his voice, despite the usual monotone he spoke with otherwise, stayed as he fingered the hem of her shirt, a jealous warning in his eyes before lightly biting her bottom lip, giving it a subtle tug. “Maybe you should - unless you want to see what a decade has done to my jealous streak.”
He kissed her then, gentle in a way to soothe the bite, and eased back. Undoing the tent zipper, he stepped into the beginnings of sunset and waited for her. There was half of a plan in mind to have her drive while he made good use of the drive to his place. Had she wanted hers? Oh, either.
