Limelight SMP: The Mysterious Continent
Chili sees an expansive, unnamed island marked on a map and decides to investigate with Pool. They find an impressive mountain continent (Ennoxis) with two large villages.
Initially they fly to the northwest village (Fianth) to see the sheer, jagged cliffs it’s draped over. It almost looks like a massive bite was taken out of the oceanside mountain (Oxamit). This village hasn’t had visitors in a very long time; the locals are wary, but not unfriendly, and offer honey to the guests. They explain that Ennoxis was formerly one empire (Elamiir) but their paths were fractured long ago.
Next Chili and Pool take a very overgrown southeast path to the other village (Larkell) and notice two churches. The foundation of one church has been taken out by a sinkhole, but the priest (Dellix), old and confused, seems to not realize that it’s unsafe and that a new church is already under construction nearby. Chili has to block off the church and place a safety hazard sign to protect him. The new church is an exact copy of the old one… meaning it lacks a proper foundation and capacity for the many residents. Chili adds sturdy cobblestone under the church to prevent another sinkhole accident and opts to celebrate the scenic view on the cliff’s edge by installing the frame of a large stained glass window. Pool speculates that the sinkhole also drained a pond next to the fisherman’s hut, and Chili agrees it should be replaced.
After consulting with the locals (Splot, Penko), it becomes clear that the town has been mismanaged for some time under the rule of a Child Emperor. He has had an advisor to guide him, yet many critical infrastructure projects have remained abandoned for several years due to lack of funding. Luckily the town is protected by ice-forged iron guardians (Levi).
The next day, Chili asks Tommo to come give Larkell a lookover. They explore the caves under the central, prominent mountain range (Mirzamet) and discover Deep Dark at the base. Tommo meets the Child Emperor (Benson) and is immediately taken with him and is overwhelmed with protective feelings. He learns that Benson is training as a blacksmith to research the cold genesis of the Levi, but that these scientific secrets have been lost to time. Tommo confides to Chili his skepticism about the intentions of Benson's advisor (Jafarinald) and they agree to keep an eye him while restoring the Larkell to its former glory.
