I’m on top of the world, ay

I may sound like some selfish, needy daughter, but I assure you that I am not. They offered to help, so I took it. I don't think I would've made it to New York in time to get to my first class, if it wasn't for their help. I would've made it at some point, though. Obviously. The all expense trip here is going to help out a lot. There won't be as many bills to pay for, so I can hopefully save up some more money. 

I'm sorry, I didn't in any way intend you to think that, or to imply it. I don't see you as needy and selfish, and I respect that some people prefer the safety of financial aid. And yes, considering that I currently am not living anywhere, I'm hoping to save up a lot of money during this trip.

I'm sure we will. Maybe at some of the events, or something. I'm originally from Norfolk, in Virginia, but I just graduated from Michigan State. What about you, where are you from?

It's nice to meet you, Santana. No doubt we will encounter each other a lot during our stay here. And there are two of us, have you met Kurt yet? But hopefully more will show up soon.

You’ll find that there’s a lot of things to do and sights to see here. I’m sure you’ll have a blast.

I don't want to have to rely on my parents to get me through. I managed to afford college without their help, and it was hard but I did it. I'm determined to get to New York by myself, too.

That’s a good plan. I unpacked right away, too. I think I’d still be living out of a suitcase if I hadn’t. I’m thinking I might do the same tomorrow. 

I'm not a fan of living out of a suitcase, so I had to unpack. And we're here for months, so I couldn't stand it. And hey, maybe we'll see each other at the place where the watersports are.

It’s like paradise here. I seriously never wanna leave.

It really is. An experience that I will remember for a lifetime, I hope. But I don't think we've met before! Hey, I'm Blaine.

I recommend getting the food and drink expense card from the front desk so you don’t accidentally end up paying for those things… Honestly, I haven’t really done much yet. Everyone else seems to have tried out some water sports and said they enjoyed it. 

I'll do that in a few minutes. I'm just focusing on getting unpacked at the moment. Watersports? I may try that later. It's always something I've wanted to try. This trip is going to be full of new experiences, I can tell.

I know, right?! It hasn’t been a week yet and I’m already not wanting to leave ever.

I'm not sure I'm at the stage where I'm never wanting to leave, but I know I'm going to enjoy my six months here. And I'll be sad to see it end, when it does. So is there anything else you would recommend, other than the sunset?

I can't wait until I move there. I finished college, so I don't think I'll be able to afford more classes. Or an apartment, but I'm sure I'll figure that out.
