A man who cooks, cleans, washes dishes, and does laundry is just a functional adult. Not a special being.
The bar is so low that some men get praised for doing basic chores in the very house they also live in.
Taking care of your own home is not going above and beyond.
It is not "helping" your partner.
It is not a favor.
It is not an act of heroism worthy of endless applause.
It is called being responsible.
A grown adult should know how to feed themselves, clean up after themselves, wash their own clothes, and contribute to the household they benefit from every single day.
Women have been expected to do these things for generations without receiving standing ovations, praise posts, or being called exceptional.
So when a man loads the dishwasher, folds a basket of laundry, or cleans the kitchen, he is not doing something extraordinary.
He is doing his share.
The real standard should not be celebrating the bare minimum.
The standard should be partnership, teamwork, effort, and mutual respect from both people.
Because a healthy relationship is not built on one person carrying the entire load while the other gets praised for occasionally picking up a broom.
It is built on two adults showing up, contributing equally, and taking responsibility for the life they are creating together.
