Anaïs Nin, from The Voice
Remember how sally told Percy that not everyone who looks like a hero is a hero and not everyone who looks like a monster is a monster
Luke and tyson
That thought hit me today so you all will suffer with me
Percy: so let me just get this clear, Leo speaks three languages, he's super tech savvy, and he's in AP math classes.
Leo: pretty much, yeah.
Percy: and Solace over here is like number one professional doctor with years of training and actual practice.
Will: I'm kinda cheating with the magic, but I read the books to make sure.
Percy: meanwhile Reyna, Jason, Hazel and Frank were/are a teenage war general. That must had required something.
Reyna, jason, Hazel and Frank: way too much leadership skills.
Percy: Calipso can make clothes from scratch, and how to grow her own food.
Calipso: I do.
Percy: Nico knows like six languages. And had years of playing video games.
Nico: I know Italian, Latin, Greek, English, and a little bit of French, so like, four and a half.
Percy: Annabeth gained architectural experience when she designed the fucking Olympus.
Annabeth: that was awesome.
Percy: Piper have a famous father, and she speaks French.
Piper: I don't like to talk about it.
Percy: all of you people are actually useful in the mortal world. I am wanted for arson.

How disgusting it is to be seen wanting. How revolting to find myself lacking. Needing. To pry my chest open and have my tender insides exposed, vulnerable. In order to ask, to welcome something that I desire. What if I can't have this? What if I'm denied? What if I'm starved? Longing and restless, as I've always been, but now with witnesses. Sickening
So I just listened to a podcast on Paradise Lost about the fall of Lucifer and humanity (on Spotify the channel is Literature and History) and basically I found an intriguing theme, among many. Lucifer was at the very core of his being, curious , he wondered why the Almighty was retreating to His mountain without ever telling them anything anymore, and why The Son of God surrounded himself in such mystery. He not only felt sidelined, but also wondered if he's sole purpose was to serve. He wanted more and was curious of what he could do and the lengths he could go and heights he could rise to. He was simply not satisfied with the way things had been since his creation, meant to serve the Almighty without question, blindly and devotedly. Despite his hubris, maniac ambition and unrelenting hunger for power, he was just curious this was the spark that ignited his fall.
Then I started thinking, how many instances in history have inventive and curious minds been punished? When great inventors and scientists went against the common way of thinking or challenged a certain belief, weren't they punished in one way or another?
Despite Lucifer Morningstar having his faults and errors, I can't help but relate to him and even feel some kind of... pity. Was he wrong to question his purpose? Was he wrong to want more than what he was told he was created for? Was he wrong to question the Almighty? Did he deserve such a harsh fate?
Share your thoughts.
Looking back on this now I wonder how curiosity is punished beyond religion and academia. For instance normal day life, adults and youngins, teachers and students, governments and their people. Basically any form of authority established, how many times has a 'Why?' turned violent? Turned into 'disrespect, rude, defiant, haughty, argumentative, talking back' and so much more. When to question an order turns into an argument. We are beings of free will and thought, is it wrong to not adhere, to not follow blindly. To think at the back of our minds 'Why should I do things so thoughtlessly?'. To want to know the reasons for and god forbid want to be respected. I find it exhausting to constantly see labels of defiance and rebellious whenever someone question authority. It's oppressive and primitive. It makes of people bullies.

My God's existence burdens me.
My existence burdens me.
My love isn't like a gentle breeze on the hilltop overseeing the town. I don't think there's really anything gentle about it. It'll feel like your drowning every time you think of me. You become like a totem to me because I pour my love into you in torrents. Gushing down your throat with the pressure of a firehose. There's no moderation. It'll be overwhelming. Like a typhoon. I'll cram every crevice of you with my love. It'll permeate into you until you understand it's weight. It will shake the foundations of your beliefs and it will ruin you.
My God's existence burdens me.
Idk how I'm doing dude, I just know I want to end my life cause the book series I've been immersed in for the past week has come to a glaring end and idk what to do with my self and this reality. Anyways how's your mum doing?

The fatigue in my bones is premordial. Like the body I have is a hand-me-down from a being that was vigorously using it before. Like he held the weight of the entire world on his shoulders. I like to think he lived an exuberant life. That he used every ounce of strength in his body to love the ones that mattered the most to him. That he broke bones to protect them. The he used all his might to make them feel loved. Sometimes I think he used his body to take the brunt of sadness' punch. He wore his body like it wasn't going to be passed on. Now his body feels tired and worn in ways I cannot say. It is the thought that he was happy that makes me wear this fatigue with pride. I hope to wear it down a little bit more for the next user. Perhaps chip away at the bones to mark my fading presence. I hope he, like the being that came before him, wears this coil with pride. That this fatigue will bother him not. That he will carry our body with strength and love it in ways his predecessors never could.
The tired, half-mad poet.

Sometimes I am this emptyness that walks the earth collecting experiences. Other times I'm the darkness at the bottom of the sea. Sometimes the sadness seems so heavy, it's all I am sometimes and I cannot breathe and I cannot express and I cannot move. I just wallow in the emptiness of it all. I understand nothing. Not even myself. They say it gets easier to carry this void that fills every crevice of my being. Funny how emptiness can feel so heavy. Perhaps it's because I lack substance that I crave depth. It's like drowning in a sea made entirely of nothingness. The breath is being forced out of my lungs but I am not fighting. I am at peace but I am so disturbed by it. Ironic, how I crave chaos when I'm languishing in peace. Is it ungrateful of me to crave substance when emptiness is all I know?. Perhaps it is because I am empty that I crave everything. To transition from nothing to everything. Negative to positive. Perfect potential difference. Perhaps neutrality is the peace I see as ideal. The dead zone where no positive or negative exists. Or perhaps it's where they both dwell and thus creating death. So tell me, is it freedom or anguish to be nothing?
