He was in the army for a short time and was famous for the soups he made with his rations, he was brought on to be a chef for the korblox higher ups where medkit got to be his co-worker! Unfortunately Soupspace ranked higher than him and medkit got roped into his shenanigans. Soupspace had much more resources to work with and experiment now and wanted to create soups that could aid in battle. Medkit suggested healing soup using a special ingredient he'd started working with. Soupspace thought explosive soup would be a MUCH better idea, to trick enemies and whatnot, so he based the idea off of his original gear and started making explosive ingredients for his soup. Medkit tried to stop him and remind him of why soup was so important, how food unifies and brings people together, how it powers our bodies, how outright stupid this idea was. Soupspace didnt listen. The canon event happned, eyes were lost, rot was aquired, and subspace's gear was permanently altered due to this to instead of spawning explosive mines, spawn explosive rats, which became an ingredient in explosive soup. One rat however he kept for being so clever. This rat was named Miette and resides under his toque. Despite his injuries and no longer being able to particularly taste, Soupspace still had a passion for creating soup and continues to work as a soup expert. He also still ended up creating the biografts eventually to be his kitchen workforce! They are powered by the explosive rats. cooking his rats into explosive stew before battle is a matter of pride, they'd work as normal mines and he can will them to stay still, but he finds it undignified and prefers to "serve" his enemies instead.
