        “I don’t know.” Cosima’s panic was beginning to leak onto her face. “Uh…” Not sure which avenue of enquiries to pursue, she paused. “Uh… Where are you at with your monitor? Did you sort it?” She asked, desperately running through their options. She had told Alison at the time that she could sign it, but she had had no idea the extent of their creators’ hold over them. “Oh God, this is all my fault!” She moaned, putting her head in her hands.

        "No... No, that's like, the least likely thing they'll do." Relieved to be giving at least some good news, Cosima straightened back up.

       ”Oh, come on, you can’t expect me to believe that. Freedom? Yeah, right!” Cosima scoffed. “How can I trust anything you say?”

       "W-what?" She stammered in disbelief. How could they know about that? Delphine told them about the first time, she was pretty sure of that, but how much more did they know? "How do you know about that?" Cosima demanded loudly.

        “I’ve already had the spiel from Leekie— ‘Free to study your biology, blah blah blah’” She parodied Leekie’s speech to her in the car. Keeping quiet about Delphine was probably a good idea, she didn’t know what they knew. Leaning forward on the table on her elbows, she looked into Rachel’s eyes, hereyes. “So what’s the catch?”

       "Oh, come on, you can't expect me to believe that. Freedom? Yeah, right!" Cosima scoffed. "How can I trust anything you say?"

        “I wish I could say I was.” She said sincerely, yet staring off somewhere into the middle distance. Shaking her head, as if to rid herself of unwanted thoughts, she addressed Alison again. “I honestly have no idea what they’re going to do. I mean, it’s unlikely they’ll lift the monitors, they don’t wanna risk anything, and, with the patent, they could probably claim you anyway, without this contract, so,” she shrugged her shoulders, “I don’t know. It could be anything. Did you read it? What did say?” Running her hands through her dreads again, she began to question Alison. “Leekie gave me a contract for the Dyad Institute, so I’m assuming he gave you something different.”

        Cosima sat down slowly, almost cautiously, never taking her eyes off the ‘proclone’, as Sarah called her. “What do you want?” She asked warily, carefully measuring out her words. A clear head was vital here, she didn’t want to lose her cool.

                   “Shit!” Cosima exclaimed, running her hand through her dreads. “Shit, shit, shit…” She continued muttering under her breath. “You can’t trust them… Everything they say… About freedom, about peace, whatever —It’s all lies.” Exhaling heavily, she collapsed down onto a chair. A cough wracked her upper body, but she pulled out a tissue just in time to watch the blood spatter weakly into it. “I don’t know what to do.” She said, leaning back in her chair, barely managing to keep the panic off her face.
