sad, but true. besides the fact that i do like trap music (not as much as boombap though) a lot of times i pressure myself to produce with 808 sounds and trap melodies because that’s what seems to sell + get you recognition nowadays. long gone are the days where you hear artists on the radio like Nas, DMX, Lauren Hill, A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, etc.... this needs to change. i understand generations change and evolve, but i still believe there’s an older dimension of music just waiting to be awoken once again. proof? @realpeterock @kushedgod @joeybadass @jimmykastle @spitta_andretti @daveeast @nas @alanthechemist @kntx_ @realcoleworld and that’s just to name a few. salute to @nickiminaj for stating facts 💯 #hiphopmusic
