I AM MY KINTYPE. That's what non-humanity is about. It's not "a strong connection", it's not only a past life or an aesthetic, it's litterally all/any/some level(s) of your identity. Who you are. What you are. You absolutely can feel human to some extent, and that's OK. But if you don't feel like you ARE your kintype on any level (which disqualifies you from non-humanity), then you are just... human

(Oddly specific because this happened to me yesterday and I was so happy)

I've recently become aware of people in the New Orleans area who strongly identify with Lestat and Louis from AMC's Interview with the Vampire.

I have noticed a repeated behavior where they are always seeking source-mates--and now other people who are have a strong fictionkin identity surrounding a single character-- not just to talk about kin stuff but with the intention of having in-person access to these people. They are active both on tumblr and discord from what I've seen.

A sense of familiarity can come with meeting source-mates or another fictionkin but that does not mean there is already an established connection in this life or that you're already aquainted with that person.

If you participate in kin or alterhuman communities, remember that you deserve to have your boundaries respected. No one should pressure you to adopt an identity, ignore your own sense of self, or rush you into joining a group or meeting in person.
