a lot of people in the tags asking “what if I’m both” but this guy gets it

IIRC the only time in Half-Life 2 that anyone utters the exact phrases "the One Free Man" or "Opener of the Way", it's Dr. Breen in that one Breencast where he tells people to narc on Gordon. Like setting aside out-of-universe stuff like achievements, we only have Breen's word that anyone calls Gordon that. For all we know he could've been making up a citizen to get mad at.

idk how to eloquently put it into words, but theres just Something about the start of hl2. the atmosphere is so bleak and heavy. theres a man who wont leave his suitcase behind because its all he has left, until hes threatened with violence to move away.  theres a man who informs you that they’re lacing the only water they give civilians. theres a man pacing repeating “They’re always departing but they never arrive, and the ones that do arrive, they never leave. you never see them go they’re always full… no one ever gets on but they’re always… always departing but they never leave…”
