GDC shenanigans

So, y'know, it's about time for an update. After a year.

A lot of us artists have lost interest, or just been super busy! But I'm going to slowly pick it back up again. No idea if many of the other artists will be joining the project, we'll just have to see!

I dunno who's still waiting for more of this story, but we do sometimes get sweet comments about how people wish there was more or that they'd found it earlier... which is actually why I'm doing this!

For pride month, here are the two gay couples!

The top one is Quby (the ruby) and Zuli (the lapis). The bottom couple is Phe (an amber) and Izzy (the peridot)

I did these designs a long time ago to explore what different labradorites might look like. They showed up briefly in the background of Wandering.

Someone asked to see gems in other outfits and suggested Memes Peridot and Labradorite for Green Diamond.

Shroom admitted that if he made a gemsona, he would probably choose a sapphire. So clearly I had to make a gemsona for him. We talked about how he pretty much never gives the middle finger, but he is drawn giving it often because it’s an effective visual way to portray his energy.

I don’t remember the context of why Opal (Violet Pearl) wanted to put Shroom in handcuffs. I just remember talking about how that would be a difficult task.

We have always called Joltie a bean, and at some point Quinn was appointed our British bean. Then the other day someone called Joltie our “resident bean.” So clearly this had to be done.

Geeks was the first person in the server to be promoted to a moderator. The role is called “diamond,” so at the time she exchanged her little Blue John for a Purple Diamond. This idea never made it to the comic canon.

Back when the server was new, I drew this as a mnemonic reminder of who was who. Blue John belonged to Geeks, the peridot belongs to MEMELOVER, Quby belongs to [harley] Quinn, and Muby belongs to Muffin.

Geeks left the server a while ago, Memes Peridot got a redesign, and Muffin now goes by Elle.

This is something I drew ages ago when I read about Labradorite’s backstory. At the time I did not know who “””purple””” was. She was the gem who used to own Labra, I guess. This is kid Labra, btw.
