What’s happening to the scientific news?
The internet is plagued with yellow news about science
Some time ago when I started to study physics at university, I was very exited because everything I used to read on those days made me to become a researcher.
Time later, as I was learning, I realized that the internet was full of scientific garbage and yellow news, news that millions believe to be true.
I asked myself, why those "news" portals do that?
Yep, when I opened this blog I was told that I could make money from the visits I received and I said, why not? my situation in Venezuela is not the best and to survive people needs to have american dollars.
After striving to provide good content to my readers I saw that my visits were not enough to generate 1 cent per month. However, I saw how false news portals earned thousands of $$ by deceiving the ignorant masses who only sought knowledge.
I remembered the current situation of my country Venezuela where a dictator (yes yes, is Chavez) indoctrinated the ignorant people for so that they would become blind defenders to death of their oppressive government. So are the tabloid news websites, that's why there are still people who think that Apollo did not reach the moon, that the Holocaust never happened and that the Earth is flat.
Communication is a weapon of mass destruction, as was said by great personalities from yesteryear like Simon Bolivar.

"We live in a society deeply dependent on science and Technology and nobody knows anything about these issues. This is a sure formula for disaster. "
However, we must know what webs are trying to profit from our thirst for knowledge, a thirst that must remain alive.
