𝔀𝓮 𝓪𝓻𝓮 𝓬𝓸𝓶𝓹𝓪𝓼𝓼𝓲𝓸𝓷

Pfft, rules. Boooooooring.

As the guard’s voice continues to drone on, Lena doesn’t particularly bother to listen. She feels a bit bad about it; honestly, he’s just following orders. As a pilot, she certainly knows well and good about those. When you’re not at the top, there’s always somebody getting their socks off at the ability to tell their inferiors what to do and will take any opportunity they can. 

The difference is, Lena had gotten this far in life by knowing when to give the rules her good ol’ middle finger.

Meeting the guard’s eyes for a moment, she gives a small nod as if she understood what he was saying and had every intention of obeying. It becomes clear that it’s the opposite of her intention as the edges of her being start to shine blue, melting and fading into the empty space around her. It happens in the blink of an eye; one moment she is in front of the guard, the next she’d passed the “heavily guarded security entrance”. Not giving them time to realize what exactly happened, Lena presses forward again, finally letting out a pleased giggle that rings throughout the lab as the meters between her and the entrance only grow wider.

She’s clearly out of place here. Her ragged bomber vest, the leather glowing faintly with the reflection of the chronal accelerator, makes her stick out amongst the white lab coats. It only takes Lena a few moments to realize that she probably looks rather silly, standing around with a container of baked goods in such a…sterile environment. It’s not enough to make her self conscious, but she does become extremely aware that she likely has limited time before she’s found and kicked out.

Luckily, her objective isn’t hard to spot.

“G’Morning, Doctor Ziegler!” 

Lena appears in front of the lab table the woman is working at, thankfully without patient or colleague at the time. Her smile is wide, hopeful, and she gently puts the container of scones down on the table, away from the other supplies.

She’s engrossed enough in her work that she doesn’t notice she’s being approached until she hears a bright, familiar voice and a soft blue glow is emanating from somewhere directly in front of her, and she looks up to see the woman at the heart of her pleasant mood.

“Lena, how lovely to see you!” Angela’s accented voice is a mixture of warmth and surprise as she leans back in her seat to take in her unexpected visitor, and the apparent gift she’s brought with her. “I’m surprised to see you so soon after your condition was cleared up; I’d have thought you would hate stepping foot in a medical facility again before you had to. I trust they let you in without too much trouble?”

There’s an amused shine in her eyes that shows she already knows quite well that Lena most likely let herself in with little regard for anyone who would keep her out. Not that Angela saw the harm in it, just this once.
