"i've honestly debated putting a duct tape line down the middle of our room and putting booby traps in along my side should she dare to cross over," annabeth deadpanned. honestly, there were moments when she wasn't sure she was going to make it through the entire year without severely maiming the horrible harpy that had been assigned to her. and she still intended to send a strongly worded letter to housing later about it, demanding that whoever had worked on their living arrangements truly needed a new change in career. "just don't be surprised if you wake up one morning and i'm asleep on the floor of your room--that's all i'm saying." peter's optimism and love of helping out other people was beyond precious, and annabeth wasn't sure she'd ever get over just how often she thought that. especially when it extended to people that he didn't even really have a vested interest in. "next year," she agreed. "you and i will be a dynamic duo, putting all the other RAs to shame. i promise."
"oh geez, that bad, huh? is she the type to really push your boundaries like that?" peter couldn't help but feel guilty for the roommate assignment, he really had no way of knowing that they'd be such a bad match. he really hoped by gods that someone in housing is able to cover that up for him, he really can't have annabeth hating him for it. and knowing annabeth this wasn't going to be an easy fix. can't even imagine what it must be like for the girl on the receiving end of annabeth's discontent, and what she's done to get annabeth like this. "of course, don't worry at all. feel free to use my room as a safe haven. i'm here for you whenever you know that." he'd do whatever to make her feel comfortable in her own home. he grinned, "i'll hold you to that promise. until then, i'll do a mighty find job for the both of us." he salutes her with a laugh.
