Rose had heard a few jokes tossed around when she first told people that she was going starting on hormones, about "estrogen shrinking the bladder". She knew it wasn't true, of course- they were just trying to get under her skin by reminding her of the problems she'd had when she was a kid.
Because of course they still remembered, and knew that it was a tease that would land; the trouble reaching the bathroom in time or the toilet itself when she did, the calls home to mum for a change of school uniform that had seemed to continue for her just that little bit longer than for any of the other kids. For a while, her parents had been talking about taking her to see a urologist, and she'd balked with embarrassment imagining being the kid who had to wear diapers to school.
But that had all resolved with time; a "late bloomer," they had called it. She'd barely had a near-miss in years, and now she was finally on HRT she could perhaps finally leave the stigma of the gross little boy people remembered behind.
This was her first house party since coming out to her old classmates. Her first house party as her. She felt herself flush with joy and a heady freedom as she stepped into the room and plucked a can from a six-pack on the table. Only three days on her meds and her skin felt radiant, her pores clear, and her kidneys quivering from the spiro she had been given as a blocker, but which nobody had thought to tell her was also an exceptionally strong diuretic.
After three more cans, though, she was starting to get a hint. Christ, why did she need to go so badly?
No, she knew this was silly. Estrogen didn't shrink the bladder, and she hadn't drunk that much- it was just in her head was all.
Still, perhaps better to go to the bathroom now instead of- oh, crap occupied? They went in together and locked- god dammit. Well was there another one? What do you mean she'd have to wait??
No, no, it was fine. Of course it was fine, she could wait. This wasn't a problem she had any more, hadn't for years.
She crossed her legs, discretely, first one way then back the other. The door still wasn't opening. A few people were glancing her way. Smirking.
The urge within her spiked, suddenly. Her thighs knotted shut and her hand slammed hard into her crotch. She caught herself, but- oh no. She could feel it now... the fluttering, spasming sensation around her sphincter and her rock hard bladder, one that was all too horrifyingly familiar.
