anyway you KNOW i’m obsessed with fitzroy and didn’t even give me a jumping off point, which is so dangerous, i could take this anywhere right now, but i think i’m just gonna throw some random shit out rather than any sort of detailed meta because i have a lot of baby headcanons that i love but they don’t have any narrative stake

no matter what skintone u hc fitzroy to have, i like to think he’s got freckles. mostly on his nose and shoulders, but sparsely over his cheeks and arms and the backs of his hands too, and he has One (1) on one of his pointy little ears

fitz has griffin’s Pillow Weirdness to a lesser degree, and he took all the pillows from the firbolg’s bed to bunch up around him. he keeps one at his back and one between his legs and one at his chest to wrap his arms around. if/when he aquires a significant other the ones at the back or chest are easily replaced by a humanoid body which is cute and great luck

fitzroy isn’t an only child… he got that youngest-of-several naivety. you know i love that bastard son hc jester and i don’t know how that would jive with how MUCH i want him to have a few older brothers but god i want him to.

sweeeeet tooth. like a baby child. this is basically canon with the crepes, but it’s universal. fitzroy smothers toast with sprinkled sugar or sweet jam, sucks on fantasy jolly ranchers in like every class, always has a few hard candies in his pockets like a grandma. coffee is undrinkable by normal standards when he finishes adding cream and sugar. he can pour three pixie sticks in his mouth and still be fine.

because of the sweet tooth he has an almost weirdly specific dental routine every morning and night with brushing and flossing and he gets super irritated if this routine is interrupted or thrown off

in general takes foreeeeeverrrrr to get ready in the morning. people assume it’s because of his hair or even his Dental Hygeine or maybe he wears makeup, but it’s actually because he does affirmations in the mirror every morning. also at night he lotions his whole body up like the peanut butter baby before he goes to bed

his brooch collection is a real collection and he like. picks one up from every new kingdom or major city he visits. like those tourist trap spoons in the US, except rich people brooches

fitzroy is the WORST at buying presents for people 99.9% of the time because he gets nervous that they wouldn’t like whatever he thinks they would and compensates by buying ridiculously expensive gifts instead. when, rarely, he DOESN’T do that, he’s totally fine. he just never trusts that he knows someone well enough to pick them a gift

a really insecure friend. had a few bad experiences with “friends” and not many good ones growing up, and internalized that shit. pretty sure people only put up with him, assumes everyone wants something from him even if it’s just flattery and positive attention, and cannot fathom that people may like him as a Person and not a dispensary of money and services.

even despite this, though, he continues to do his best to make and keep friends, because he wants to believe better of people. he’s trying extra hard at wiggenstaff’s because he knows college is where a lot of people make lasting friendships and he desperately wants some of those.

crush was from a legacy of heroes and had a lot of pressure from himself and parents

jimson was a scholarship kid. he tested specifically for the annex because the financial security sounded really great to him

jimson has always been a doormat much to crush’s frustration

jimson was one of those students who had like 3+ roommates

because of this once him and crush became friends crush let him crash in his single dorm

yes it’s a “there’s only one bed” situation

also crush was impossible to work with because he was so independent and jimson was essentially the only one who managed to be his sidekick

ok that’s some main points so here’s some elaboration.

the first time they were paired together it was in lieu of how they were randomly assigned given neither had a hero or sidekick yet? jimson had some heroes/villains show interest in him being their partner but they either didn’t pursue it or just? found someone more suitable.

crush was very “I can handle this myself” and jimson while he’s a pushover, the one thing that conquers his doormat attitude is getting a good grade. he just said, very plainly that he doesn’t want to fail this assignment and they’ll have to work together for both their benefits and crush did want a good grade, so he begrudgingly went through with it. the supervisor made note of this and they kept being paired just because sidekicks kept complaining about crush? so it sorta happened like that.

argos so?? bewildered where he is. the welcoming ?? the safe bed to lay in? the food that isn’t rotted. the idea someone will be there if he is hurt? it’s so strange to him. yet he’s really really uncomfortable, it all feels circumstantial? once he’s done with what he came there to do, there’s a Big Big chance it’ll be impactful enough to get him kicked out. it’s temporary?

he bottles it up super fucking hard but he looks tired sometimes after meeting with jackle. meeting with him is? always something that reminds him of some saying about how if you save a thief they will kill you. he’s a thief but he wouldn’t kill anyone unless they came at him first, even then he’s not too sure. he’s a rogue, he does some sneaky things but it’s all so blatant.
