Camila didn’t choose to leave the group in 2015. Get ready for the riiiide (lots of posts from @emisonme and @decoding1432 because they are quality content, people)

Proof management orchestrated the lie that Camila surprise-quit the band in Dec 2016 and they had no idea she was just going to up and leave for a solo career and further reflections on that tea plus an entertainment lawyer’s input on what the trademark deal penned back in 2015 could mean financially for the remaining 4 girls 

And there’s just so much more tea and shit. The TL;DR of Camila’s solo departure is basically: they all knew by the end of 2015 that Camila was going to be broken off as a solo act and by the time 7/27 came around they knew that that was their last album as a 5 piece and their last tour as a 5 piece. The “official” statements released by the remaining 4 girls (the same statement posted on each of their Instagrams) was written by their management, in which management tries to force a narrative whereby Camila betrayed the girls and surprised them with an overnight decision to become a solo artist. Which is patently untrue at this point.

And since then we’ve been re-analyzing a lot of the moments between the girls and the messages they shared with each other, and it fits in with the knowledge that they knew and were anticipating her departure for an entire year.

What The X Factor doesn’t show you on television

I feel like a lot of it was Camila. Her singing “Say You Won’t Let Go” like her life depended on it. Her promotion for her solo career, IHQ, CITC, THTHTL, etc was all super suss and gay. It’s what gave us “this album is not really about boys though”. Also her first interview with Zane Lowe when her album was still being promoted as THTHTL. This unique interview with Genius which I estimate would have been filmed in August or early September at the latest, when the psychic says that somebody Camila is going to take concern with, is going to try and distance themselves, maybe react angry, they want to open up etc and Camila seems sincere when she says that that is actually going on right now (plays into the 2017 breakup theory, I previously answered that I guesstimate a 2017 breakup around August/September based on Camila’s Spotify, I’d forgotten about this interview too lols). Also her talking about what IHQ is about, and what it originally sounded like, “How did we let it all get this far?” like come on. This hella gay Q+A where I swear the audience was stacked with low-key Camren shippers. The gayest of gay advice segments, presented by “Ask Camila (for gay advice)”. Camila singing “Say You Won’t Let Go” at the BBC Radio 1 awards again like her life depended on it (I’m thinking Camren was either on the mend or already back together by this point, October 2017). This very expensive watch that Lauren received a few days before Christmas (which she spent in Miami) that’s totally devoid of any attribution to Ty (I imagine Camila with steam outta her ears if she saw it being attributed to Ty) a watch I see Lauren wearing during that Christmas when she’s taking bathroom selfies, or when she’s driving her grandpa to go vote in Miami the year after. Camila’s NBTS home video which I swear shows Lauren’s arm wearing that same watch and taking Camila’s hand.

this doesn’t include every single thing that happened involving them this year but here’s some of it:

lauren and camila didn’t: spend years indirecting each other, get caught spooning by dinah, go on a date to the beach on valentines day, try to discretely hold hands in front of cameras, sneak off together during award shows, call the other their soulmate with different words, wear as many of each other’s clothes that will fit them, reblog posts about intamacy when we know they’re alone together (ex. after the 1975 concert), have their hands all over each other for as much as they could without getting in trouble and more for us to second guess their relationship.

nowadays they still indirect each other often and they go off the radar at the same time. camila went out of her way and returned to new york city after the chicago jingle ball for a few days without anyone knowing before leaving for another continent to most likely spend time with lauren. camila literally showed lauren in her story after the AMAs. lauren cried when camila performed consequences. camila invited lauren to the rep tour as a vip!! lauren followed bazzi right after camila performed beautiful with him!! lauren did not like only the pisces post and cancer post—coincidentally her and camila’s signs—out of an entire 12 post set of zodiac romance reports for us to doubt their relationship!!

I wasn’t going to make a post about this, but this entire thing just rubbed me the wrong way and I felt like I needed to address it.

So another Billboard article came out today featuring Camila on the cover and a story about her success over the past year. Here is the full article (X). 

Skipping all the blah blah blah at the beginning, we end up eventually on the piece that talks about Camila’s career in 5H. It should speak for itself! 

“When she started performing with Fifth Harmony at 15, she didn’t have much of a say in her own career: She recorded and performed with little control over her schedule for almost five years straight, until her departure from the group in late 2016.” 

Keep this in mind —> “She recorded and performed with little control over her schedule for almost five years straight”

Then skipping a little farther, we get to a comment about paparazzi. 

“The paparazzi follow Cabello everywhere, even when she is home in Miami with her family. This year, she took her 10-year-old sister, Sofia, trick-or-treating for Halloween, but wore a mask to avoid being recognized.” 

Really? Does anyone else remember this specific tweet that’s only a whopping 3 months and 20 days old?

How exactly did she go from no paparazzi following her to them suddenly being everywhere in the span of a few months? It couldn’t be because of the success of Havana, because Havana was still incredibly popular at the time. Strike one.

Next we have a total of four paragraphs about her “relationship” with the “guru.” All of which are indeed major bullshit. 

“It was only recently that Cabello even acknowledged the existence of her boyfriend, a 31-year-old British dating coach named Matthew Hussey. She has said that they met on the set of NBC’s Today, which is, I guess, one of the only places an internationally famous pop star might come into contact with a male Cosmo “love guru” 10 years her senior. They both appeared on the program in September 2017, and they were photographed together for the first time in February, on the beach in Mexico a few weeks after Cabello released her album.“

The only thing I’m going to counter this paragraph with is this video of Ew from a radio interview earlier this year saying himself that they MET IN JANUARY:

“When I bring up a video of the two kissing that a fan recently posted on Instagram, she grins. In the video, taken at the Santiago, Chile, airport in October, Cabello turns to Hussey and gives him a quick kiss for fans gathered by the security line chanting, “Beso! Beso!” 

Those were my biggest, biggest, most hard-core fans,” she says, “and they know him anyway, because they know that we’re together. I thought it was really cute when they did that, and it’s like a trusted circle. … They’re chanting my mom’s and my manager’s and my dad’s and my sister’s name, so they know a lot, so I thought it was really cute when they said that, and I was just like, ‘Let’s give them a kiss.’”

A “private relationship” needs four paragraphs about it, two of which detail the events of a video where they’re seen kissing in front of fans? Okay, sure. That’s strike three. 

After this they give us more background on her friendships with Charli XCX and Taylor Swift, and then end the paragraph with Camila talking about the Rep Tour, which is amazing that she was an opener for, but they really couldn’t have asked her about her own successful tour while on the topic? It was her first one, after all. Strike four!

Skipping on a little further, she talks about a break. 

“I think that there will be a time where I want to take a few months to go live in Spain or in Italy and just pig out and just not have any discipline or any responsibility,” she continues. “But I feel like I haven’t really earned that yet. I don’t feel like I’ve earned an extended break.”
