He paused, left it at that at first. Very funny. Good one, Gavin. It wasn’t something he liked to remember too often to be quite honest; too bad that it was in the middle of his fucking face though, right? Or maybe it was good for him to remember. As a lesson not to let things just idly happen to you without putting up a good fight first.

It had happened a few years ago, he would guess; he wasn’t too sure. All he knew was that it happened in a back alley somewhere in Detroit–a great cruising spot if you were to ask a few years ago. A few guys sucked off, a few others taking him from behind, the usual deal.

Except, of course, that one time where he found the price for his debauchery. Finally some might say. You just need to be careless once and can already find yourself with your pants and underwear down and turning around to find the guy that was cruising you threaten you with a knife.

“You’d honestly think I could be like you? Fucking get me infected with your disease?”

Gavin probably had never raised his hands faster before in his entire life when he saw the knife. In retrospect, he was a fool for not just trying to dash and get the hell out of there, but to his defence, freezing was a common thing in humans in shock and, besides, he probably wouldn’t have gotten far with his pants hanging down to his knees anyway.

The guy continued talking during his power trip, throwing slurs and whatever you could think of at him, most of which he had been too scared to remember. But the way that asshole kept glancing down to his crotch and tried to hold back a smirk was the worst.

“You can thank that thing between your legs that you’re not dead; I don’t hurt women.”

After that, it pretty much became a blur in his memory to him. He remembered attacking that guy in seething rage. Maybe it was foolish of him. Maybe he should have just let that asshole have his last laugh before he walked away without a fight, but that comment had just sent Gavin over the edge, his nose ending up sliced up and gushing with blood to the point where there was too much blood to even smell it anymore. His chest was left with a few scars too, but few that many people know of. Not that he needed to show everyone. Gavin guessed the least thing he could do was be grateful for the man that pulled them apart and called the police, although he wished that the other man would have at least ended up with some ugly scars too instead of getting away without much except bruises.
