"I let the beat guuiide me." She laughed and slinked on the spot in a kind of embarrassing dance, "Try it. You just-" She shimmied, "let go when you like the song. Should we request a song? Loosen you up a bit?" 

He followed suit. "Have you ever seen the Addams Family movie? I can tango rather well," he said, smirking at Violet.

"Sounds really…. Interesting. As long as it pays, I guess." Human relations wasn’t much to go off of. But Violet didn’t bother to press further, "So, do you dance? Or do you just perpetually brood?"

"Yes, as long as it pays," he said.

"I’m not sweet," Arthur frowned at the other boy. "I will be remembered as the boy who wore orange for prom. Not a good way to be remembered, is it?"

"Hey, it is always better to be remembered for something 'silly' than not at all. I think the suit looks cool, but eh, you have your own opinions."

"A bit, yeah, so at least I have that. My sister told me I would look very fancy so I trusted her judgement. She’s twelve."

"You people are too sweet. It is going to make someone sick," his dark sense of humor came forth. "I believe your little sister has a fantastic sense of judgment. You stick out, thus you will be remembered."

"Well, yeah," she watched him peer into the cup, "assuming someone’s spiked the punch." she laughed. He was focused, on what exactly, she wasn’t sure. Intense. "Ah, yes. Gavin Ashford and his ever preoccupying, ever mysterious job." She quirked an eyebrow jokingly, "Help me narrow it down, Burger King or Starbucks?" 

"It is something much more satisfying. I guess you could say that is human relations," he said, losing focus on the two teens at the punch bowl. They were not doing anything. The black haired one seemed not all that comfy being here, let alone with spiking the punch. "And it does keep me very busy," he added.

"An opportunity to wear a ridiculous dress and dance until my feet bleed? Wouldn’t miss it for the world." She smiled and took a sip of her punch, "Actually, I’m surprised that you’re here, Mr. Ashford. I thought you were above all this Rose Valley shit.”

"As long as you have fun, yes?" he said, peering into the cup slightly. How he prayed that some fool did not spike the punch already. He peered over at two, shady teenagers standing by it. He almost went over there, but he was much more preoccupied with Violet. "I did not have to work today," he commented. He was actually predicting a phone call at some point. Somebody was going to need drugs. Hm, the people here might end up needing his services. Oh joy.

It was only a matter of time. Gavin spun on a heel to meet face to face with the blonde beauty. "Hi there," he replied, grinning at her. "I am honestly shocked to see you here. I thought this would be something you would ignore for your usual affairs."

I suddenly feel very silly wearing an orange suit while everybody’s wearing black suits.

"Feel original?"

"I feel like that would only work with half of the population here. The other half would laugh at the thought. Do whatever necessary I suppose. ‘Winning is not everything, but wanting to win is.’”

"Said one of the greatest coaches of all time."

"My only wish about the voting system is that I could vote for multiple people for each category. Everyone deserves to win…"

"Aw, is that not the sweetest thing I've ever heard? What is your name, sweetheart?"

It’s really not that big of a deal, dude, but if you truly want those fifteen minutes of fame, go for it. 

"I am joking, sir."

Sure, if that’s what you want. You can even use my bullhorn if it means that much to you.

"Oh, please, may I use it?"

"I suppose… I feel as if everyone is valid because everyone has at least one person within the school that would vote for them. But uh- I’d go for it if it means that much to you."

"Sure. Vote for Gavin Ashford. I think I'll parade around with a sign and probably pay people off," Gavin chuckled.
