Elucidation Corporation & the Profundum Foundation
An inaccessible Anomalous dimension exists beyond Earth itself, and billions of humans will go their entire lives never learning of this fact. However, the barrier seperating the Anomalous world from the natural world has collapsed in certain locations on Earth, resulting in the presence of Anomalous entities, objects, and regions in a land where they do not belong. Elucidation Corp. is a secret organisation founded by Miss Urban and ████ █████ dedicated to neutralising, containing, and exploiting these Anomalies to uphold the illusion that monsters are only fantasy.
Elucidation’s Profundum Foundation was built for Anomalous entity containment and unethical experimentation due to the secrecy of its location. Elucidation Corp. has a difficult hiring process in that potential workers must pass deep background checks and have certain prerequisites. Elucidation typically seeks out potential employees themselves rather than publicly promoting their available roles. All workers are required to sign an NDA before officially joining the company.
Elucidation Corp. will gather inmates from various prison across the world to be used as test subjects, assistants in construction work, Anomaly tamers, and more. Convicts are split into four groups—most Prisoners are LR-C status (Low-Rank Convicts), who are a group of inmates used as human test subjects/lab rats for Elucidation’s experiments and expeditions. MR-C (Medium-Rank Convicts) act as the Foundation’s primary janitors, and receive slightly better living conditions than the LR-C; being allowed private cells and the ability to roam around the Profundum Foundation so long as they are given explicit permission. HR-C (High-Rank Convicts) receive the best living conditions of all prisoners, as they rest within large, private cells that they are allowed to customise as they please; and can wander the facility without having to ask for permission from Guardsmen. Furthermore, HR-C are generally assigned to construction/maintenance work, as well as taking care of non-hostile Anomalies like ANO-D-17. In addition, HR-C are given the option of joining recreational programs/activities during their free time. All Convicts, no matter the ranking, are required to head back inside their cells once the clock has hit 10pm—under certain conditions, however, there may be exceptions to this rule.
Expendable Convicts known as ES-C (Expendable Soldier Convicts) are used as part of Special Order 19: ‘Prisoner Expendable’; a protocol where large amounts of Convicts are used as disposable soldiers for retrieving important assets or investigating Anomalous regions where regular Elucidation personnel are unable to do so themselves without great losses. ES-C are not given proper training or told of the dangers that await them before they enter the area.

The Profundum Division is an important division of Elucidation Corp. that handles the operation of the Profundum Foundation; a clandestine site which contains many Anomalous Organisms and Anomalous Objects discovered by the company. Additionally, they assist in producing goods made from Anomalous properties.
The Infiltration & Expedition Division plans and manages the exploration and infiltration of newly discovered anomalous locations; as well as the expeditions into such areas after they have been mapped. Furthermore, they partake in activities involving espionage and information gathering.
The D.E.A.D. (Damned Exploration And Discovery) Subdivision is an important subdivision of Elucidation Corp. dedicated to all work and other responsibilities pertaining to Hell. D.E.A.D. consists of only the most loyal and trusted Elucidation personnel.
The Medical & Wellness Subdivision is dedicated to treating the wounded or sick employees of Elucidation Corporation. In addition, they handle the mental evaluations at the end of each month and offer support services to traumatised/struggling workers.
The Finances Division oversees all financial processes and decisions. They handle cash availability, process payments, track expenditures, and more.
The Cryptobiology Subdivision is a subdivision of Elucidation Corp. that handles the research pertaining to Arcanamare animals, Anomalies, and more. Additionally, its employees help manage the experimentation programs held in the Profundum Foundation.
The Marketing & Cover-ups Division is a division that manages the public appearances of Elucidation Corporation. They design packages containing Anomalous goods to disguise their true properties and create fake news articles to cover up Anomalous incidents and deaths in which the public has been made aware of.
The Profundum Foundation is a large, underwater facility constructed by Elucidation Corporation in The Arcanamare Zone. It handles the operations of unethical experiments and the containment of Anomalies discovered by Elucidation. The Profundum Foundation was built directly in the middle of The Arcanamare Zone, with certain sectors of the site being embedded into surrounding rock structures. Unauthorised personnel are prohibited from entering the facility.
The room design most commonly seen in the Foundation is of a somewhat futuristic appearance; pipes decorate the floors, and the colours of its halls are a mix of blue, black, white, and grey. The facility’s overall atmosphere is eerie and unwelcoming. Auditory and visual hallucinations are experienced by each human who walks inside.
This facility is split into several sectors that all possess docks for submarines to easily enter through, meaning personnel are not required to walk across countless rooms to access their desired sector.
Sector 0: Facility start, offices, & Hell-Grav Storage Centre
Sector 1: Anomaly chambers — Heavy Containment (hostile Anomalies) & Light Containment (non-hostile & item Anomalies)
Sector 2: Oxygen greenhouses, maintenance tunnels, employee quarters, cafeterias, Hell-Grav Storage Centre, & Convict cells
Sector 3: Additional Anomaly chambers (Heavy Containment & Light Containment), laboratories, Hell-Grav Storage Centre
Sector 4: The Ridge & Crystal holding chamber
Sector -4: Directly below sector 4; used to study certain hazardous Anomalies such as ANO-6-863
Sector 4 holds AOB-D-2: The Crystal, which is an anomalous geode found on the bottom of the Pacific Ocean. It was uncovered after the initial finding of The Arcanamare Zone, as Elucidation personnel reported seeing a “glowing gem” submerged near a bizarre rock formation located several metres away from the abyssal trench. Due to the strange nature of the find, it was quickly transported to the surface for research.
Through analysis it was revealed that AOB-D-2 possessed seemingly infinite power and energy. Because of this, Miss Urban ordered that The Crystal be used to provide power to the entire Profundum Foundation and any excess energy is to be sold off for profit. The Crystal’s chamber is located inside the first Sector of the Profundum Foundation constructed.
