What do you personally think of the Garrence ship? Do you think it should be canon? If so why?
oh boy. garrance was my ride or die for a while, though that's since gone on the back-burner bc i prefer platonic garmau as a pairing now. idk which version you're referring, but i'll answer both: mcd - i like it. i used to LOVE it, but now it's alright. i think they have a beautiful chance for a trade-off of support - laurance supporting garroth in becoming more comfortable with vulnerability in s1, and then garroth being laurance's support in s2/helping him find roots in his humanity in s3 (not that that one happened - i just think there would be good potential in that). we already know they quickly got pretty close after laurance regained his sight, with them very much so being the "i can tell him anything" kinda vibes. even things they dont think they could tell aph. i think they're fine not being canon - though i think if "The List" were canon, they would be soso fun to explore, esp if the relationship itself wasnt. but i'm ok with reading between the lines. they're complicated, imperfect, and maybe a little undefined. to me now, they're a fleeting experience they had and both cherish, but they're a little doomed. aren't meant to be. "maybe in another life."
mys - is 'that life.' i think they're phenomenal in mystreet. best friends to lovers!! i think they should absolutely be canon. not only is their chemistry amazing, but they seem so comfortable around each other vs. when theyre in the "talking" phase w others (so, kim basically LMAO). that, and jessica herself ships them - or at least, she did. i think it's time we get an mlm pair that isnt a walking stereotype (sorry guy and nate fans lol) and isnt just in the background. it wouldnt be remotely left-field, we wouldnt have any shoe-horned in girl relationships w these guys, and i also think it'd be a good penance for jason making that comment abt "differing worldviews" preventing them from committing to main gay characters while still making that damn melcinda vs garrance poll :sob: HOWEVER! i still also think they work as life-long buddies who stick it out and live together w/o romance and w/o feeling compelled to seek romance in others either. they're just a good pairing through-and-through, and wonderful supports for one another. i do think s6 probably made them grow apart since garroth went through so much w/o laurance knowing what was going on, but i think them trying to reforge that bond and coming out even stronger on the end would be so powerful. they're cool
