“This is serious. Remember! There is nothing more serious than a joke.”  That’s what Grandfather always said to me when I sat and begged him to finish his “Beer for the road,” while he peppered some poor barmaid with terrible jokes.

Grandfather also urged me to write daily manifestos to myself. A little reminder. Like a little post-it note to “Go fuck yourself!” left on the bathroom mirror. 

Anyway, here is my manifesto to myself for today 9/10/15

I Never Remember How To Spell Annihilation 

Artists are people that wrestle with DEATH. All the messy complicated neurosis. All the overwhelming fear and anxiety. All the pain and suffering. Creation and destruction. And frankly, this is shit the general public wants abso-fucking-solutely nothing to do with, so you gotta be creative. This is where the art comes in. You gotta sucker the public. Infect em with thoughts and ideas that grow into facing the fact that everything they love, including themselves, is going to suffer complete annihilation.
