Guide on how to win the Electric Showdown (almost) every time
I just realized this event had a proper name and not like "the energy challenge" or smth
When you play the Electric Showdown you can do it one of two ways:
You're out of lives and you just want to beat this damn level and have free lives for an hour
Optimize your playing and set out to win this thing
Or like do whatever you want forever idc
So if you want to win (most of the time) the first thing you want to do is make sure you have the double energy circle activated by playing 10 games. And then I want you to have the magic hats ideally on 3/3 but we can work with 1/3 since it will give you the energy circle first. Here is what that looks like:
You will notice that I also have infinite dynamite for a time. If you also have this berry collection event happening (or similar), it's worth it to have a powerup going or especially a multiplier. If you can start with a x2 that is going to help you so much.
Bonus tip: At this point, you might as well activate the play ten levels in a row without failing challenge and collect your free 833-909 coins since we won't be failing levels while we win this competition.
You need to start out strong because the #1 most important aspect of winning competitions in Gardenscapes is flow. This applies to almost every single competition btw. The game rewards you for consistently winning levels the first try and keeping that flow. So if we want to win the Electric Showdown we have to already be in that flow with all our advantages activated.
Step Two: Use the Extra Energy Circle Power-up on Super Hard and One Shot Levels
As you can see in the screenshot above, whenever I am on a super hard or one-shot level I use an extra energy circle power-up for this competition. Since you already have the magic hats, this is going to spawn you in with two double energy circles on a level that every energy is already with x5. With the double energy circles that makes it x10 since you are touching double the fruit.
This is how you get +890 energy in one double clearing of the board!
Since a lot of levels start off with an initially small playing space, when you are spawning in two energy circles at the beginning, the likelihood is good that they will spawn next to or close to each other. This is important for step three.
Step 3: Always Activate The Energy Circles with Each other to Double Clear the Board as Much as Possible
The way to get the most energy is to match two energy circles together to clear the entire board, granting you the energy of every single slot (including the ones that don't currently have fruit in them!)
It is even worth it to spend a few moves to make the energy circles sit next to each other, as when the board double clears (double energy circles) that will do a pretty good job helping you beat the level too.
Tip: Pay attention to the explosives.
Ex. A bomb can clear five spaces to drop an energy circle down to another. If it is spaced correctly, you can clear more spaces in one column than another and line adjacent energy circles up in the same row.
Ex. Explosives are the only thing you can trade with an energy circle without it activating. This means you can move the energy circles' position.
Ex. When in doubt, make a lot of explosives blow up at once in a chain reaction to get more energy circles.
In this level you can move the rocket down to clear the space next to the double energy circle and put them next to each other, OR you can trade it to the right so the energy circles are on top of each other. In general, if you have the option to it is always safest to put the energy circles on top of each other if they are going to fall due to level mechanics, especially through a portal. Making sure they stay together when you explode things is more important than you might think.
In this level, the energy circles spawned one space apart from one another. You can solve this in three steps. First, you want to explode more power ups to spawn in a third energy circle. Then, use that energy circle to get rid of the yellow fruit to drop the bomb next to the energy circles.
Then, you can move the bomb to the right (or left) to move one of the energy circles into the position next to the other. Hmm I gotta stop taking action shots hopefully this is clear lol
Finally, use those mfs to clear the whole damn board!
When I use this strategy, combined with a one-shot level and an extra power-up in the beginning, I get over 2000 energy from one level.
Bonus step: intimidate your opponents by getting crazy amounts of energy within the first 10 minutes
Step 4: No Matter What, Don't Lose a Level
Keeping the flow of power ups by not losing a level is the most important thing. Yes, it does in fact make the 1 hour endless lives kind of useless, but oh well. You'll get a bonus 1 hour by winning anyway :]
If you need to use a clearing power-up (the ones on the side) or pay 900 coins to play on to beat a level it's worth it to keep the flow! Plus if you've played the 10 levels in a row without failing while doing this you'll have gained 900 ish coins in the process.
Step 5: If You Have Extra Moves, Explode As Many Explosives to Make as Many Energy Circles As Possible
For levels that have a barrier/goal you need to break multiple multiple times, these are conducive to multiple double clearings without beating the level. So if you have the moves, blow up a lot of explosives to make many double energy circles, and not only will you be able to activate many of them on their own but likely they will spawn next to each other since there's only so many spots to spawn. Then you can activate many double board clears!
This also works well if you have a level with lemonade and one gets stuck on top of an energy circle. Then nothing can beat the level until you activate that one energy circle so if you have extra moves, double clear away!
Seriously, if this isn't your favorite way to play then don't play this way. This is a good guide on how to flow and have fun imo while also winning prizes but if it isn't fun for you uhhh don't do it !
